Rhabdomyolysis - MY STORY

You shouldn't rest and lose that precious strength. Squat and DL workout tomorrow. Do it, pussy.

Mine was the first Rhabdo diagnosis, do I get a sports medicine MD?

None of us would have known about Rhabdo without Crossfit, so Crossfit saves lives.

what did they say about the state of your kidneys...sounds like there's something seriously wrong with them...

plenty of people train hard and i dont mean with leg extensions...and most dont have any issues...so it's def something specific to you...

get better bro...

Whoa. I'm glad to hear you're doing OK!!

Hang in there and let us know hwo you're recovering.

Now, don't do something that stupid ever again. (Sorry, I'm the woman and needed to make some sort of ridiculous comment like that. I'll go back to ironing and baking now...)

Seconded - what's the scoop?

Seconded - what's the scoop?

They've tested my kidney function and found that theres been no reduction in the function at all.

I'm booked into see a specialist in a couple of weeks to see if there was anything specific to me that made me more susceptable to the Rhabdo.

The exercise that I did on the day wasnt just the leg ext. In the morning I did a normal work out at work - cardio, pull ups, push ups, int training. Then I went to the gym or a machine work out, something that I very rarely do, this is where I did the leg ext, along with a warm ups and about 8 other isolation exercises on machines - all 100s. (i know-Stupid) and then in the evening I went to BJJ and had about two hours of fighting - all wars and all with bigger and stronger guys.

Getting better - lots of fluid and no exercise

Your friggin nuts haha.. im glad you went to the doctor.

Got a mean little case of this shit this week too. Got back to the gym after a few years off and was trying to see exactly where I was, so I did 5 increasing reps of twelve on everything but legs, pretty much every isolation machine they had. Was fine the first day after, just a bit sore, the second day out it felt like my upper body was getting torqued by a dump truck, and I started pissing dark brown stuff. Remembered seeing that other thread about it a week before and promptly started hydrating. Two days later, still sore as fuck, but the brown piss is mostly gone. Sitting here with a gallon of water, a gallon of milk, and a two quart bottle of gatorade. :D

Thanks Sherdog! I wouldn't have know what the fuck was wrong with me otherwise.

I was just about to look for your other thread before I seen this. Good job for going to see the doctor.
