Some people will tell you 4/5 still not enough, if you want beat the ChampSo to beat Jon you have to win 4/5 rounds, and do it again in the instant rematch. Sounds fair
Mighty Mouse doesnt even fight in the UFC anymoreMighty Mouse lost the belt to a split decision. This thread is invalid.
Nobody said 4/5 rounds. What you can't do is lose the championship rounds and have two others be questionable.

Its an unwritten rule
Jones made him look like reindeer in lights and was all over him in championship rounds while Reyes was gassed and just tried to survive. If there was no time limit Jones wouldve eaten him alive sooner or later. Even if Reyes outpointed him with one or two barely significant jabs during early rounds which were merely just ant bites compared to the takedowns and kicks Jones threw later in the fight that possibly destroyed his ACL which his reaction kinda gives away in the Ariel Show. That its not enough to dehtrone someone like Jones and Reyes needs go back to drawing board after healing up and work on finishing moves if the rematch presents itself one day.
Its totally different story when challanger wins last 3 rounds in row and Champion gets saved by the bell not if its the other way around.
Do not leave the fight in the hands of the judges
If Reyes won 3 rounds then how come Jones is the champion? Reyes just wasnt convincing enough other than first round which everyone agrees he won. What the fuck does a no time limit fight have to do with the fight fought under the rules agreed upon for the bout? Jones' takedowns accomplished nothing. He had 2 takedowns with roughly 5 seconds of top control and literally 0 damage from them. All you need to do to "dethrone" a champ is beat them according to the rules of the fight. The scoring is exactly the same for a title fight as any other fight. Reyes won 3 rounds. Jones won 2 rounds. None of the rounds were blowouts either way.

They clearly did not go to Reyes and the bottom line is he failed to win the belt. He better work on some finishing moves if he gets the rematch oneday and try be more convincingBottom line is that if rounds 2 and 3 "weren't convincing enough" then you don't know anything about MMA. Both rounds clearly went to Reyes. Jones literally turned his back and ran multiple times in the fight and you're saying Reyes look liked a deer in the headlights? gtfo of here with that nonsense.
It does not f**king matter if a round is Rd2, or Rd1, or Rd5, or Rd3 !!! EACH ROUND IS JUDGED SEPARATELY (or it *should be*) and the results handed in after each round. If Reyes won 3 rounds then how come Jones is the champion? Reyes just wasnt convincing enough other than first round which everyone agrees he won.

Well shit. You said there were zero questionable rounds, so that means there were zero questionable rounds! If you say Reyes won the first three, then Reyes won the first three! He wins! There's no way that anything you said is was the matter of opinion, bias, or subjectivity, so thank you for the facts as you've expressed them, and thank you for enlightening me to the error of my ways. Glad we had this talk. There were 0 questionable rounds. Reyes clearly won 1-2-3 and Jones clearly won 4-5. Championship rounds don't mean shit. A round is a round is a round.
Almost but not everyone. Not convincingIt does not f**king matter if a round is Rd2, or Rd1, or Rd5, or Rd3 !!! EACH ROUND IS JUDGED SEPARATELY (or it *should be*) and the results handed in after each round.
Reyes won 3, Jones won 2, and the judges got it WRONG. That's that. Incompetence or corruption ($$$) we don't know.
Almost all the MMA journalists said this (go check), John McCarthy said this (go check), everyone who is an INDEPENDENT professional in the game basically. Oh and the fight metrics said this too.
You go believing what you want in your blind Jones-fanboism delusion, but .........you're wrong today, you'll be wrong tomorrow and you'll be wrong the day after that.
The irony is that the sentiment behind the statement "don't leave the fight in the hands of the judges" is that if you do, you run the risk of the judges making the wrong decision (like they did in this fight). The biggest commonality between Jones and his fans is that you are all about as dumb as rocks.Do not leave the fight in the hands of the judges
Nowhere in the rulebooks does it say that. You win or lose based on performance, not held titles.
Not just that but any other scoring system like Pride´s for example and 100% of anyone who ever lived would say Jones is clear winner. The challenger came on strong in the beginning and the champ came on strong in the end. Neither walked away with an ass kicked. Some rounds really weren't definitive enough for a belt to change hands. Not even top 50 most nonsense decisions I've seen. Anybody still crying doesnt quite understand. Jones earned the right to get his ass BEAT if you want that belt. Not edged. BEAT. If you cant wrap your head around that you will just go unwrapped. It's quite simple
