Rewatching Ortiz-Couture

I was at that UFC. it was a very pro-Randy crowd even though Tito was the champ and kind of the face of the organization.
 
My favorite fight was the Frank Shamrock fight. Frank was so much smaller than Tito and yet he used cardio to tire Tito out and get the finish.

Props for Tito for recognizing the importance of cardio because after that, he became a cardio machine and started training at big bear.
 
Tito IS a legend. After UFC 40 me and everyone else thought Tito was invincible, i remember that fight and my whole world just fell apart.
Imagine if Big John would´ve stopped the fight when Randy "tapped out" on Tito´s ass.

I'm not sure why people were so shocked. Randy was strong as all hell, an elite wrestler, not a community college champ, and had a reputation for being tough and crafty already. I was a fan of both of them, but didn't see tito just double legging or ankle picking Randy.

Tito lost to the top two guys in the UFC while in his prime. That's it.

Just like Liddell got choked out by Horn in his prime and Couture lost to Valentijn Overeem.

And like prime Wanderlei got beat by Tito. Deal with it idiot, Tito was a long time champ and top fighter, no matter how stupid you are about it.
 
Say what you want but Tito Ortiz can take an ass whippin and a half. And unlike half the Chumps in the UFC today you could actually get you interested into his fight.

So this is my proposal cut off Tito Ortiz's head Futurama Style and have him fight Demetrious Johnson.... That might be the toughest competition DJ has ever had.

yeah, and add Vitor in there too. Those were three dominant beat downs (people forget that Randy beat the shit out of Chuck before Rampage did). I think at that point there was no LHW in the world who could have beaten Randy in a cage under the unified rules.

Don't forget Lil Nog....Aside from hugging an early Wand....Ortiz got destroyed by(lil Nog, Randy, Chuck) and would have gotten destroyed by Ranpage, Arona, Randleman and Hendo.

Basically anyone who knew how to wrestle or was not two
Weight classes smaller.

I'm ashamed I forgot lil Nog to be honest.

Sokodojou was a great wrecking ball tbf. Pretty random.

Also Tito could have held his own against any fighter in that group on a good day.

those 2, his fight with Sylvia were prob best Randy has looked in his career. my fave fight with him though is vs Big Nog.
