Rewatched Jiri's fight with Karl Albrektsson....

Do you disagree with Glover having some of the best grappling in the division? Because Davis grapplefucked him too. I mean Phil is probably the best grappler in the whole division... I don't get what your point is supposed to be.
Glover has good takedowns and his top game is some of the best at 205. I think his defensive grappling is worse than his offense. Both Davis and Corey outgrappled him.

Jiri is fucked if this goes to the ground. Glover is fucked if he can't take it there.

Seems like a lot of you just watched the gif.

Jiri took the beating, swept and TKO'D Albbrektson.

Couple that with 4+ years of training... it's not inconceivable to think he's improved enough to keep it standing or at least get back to his feet.

This fight is definitely going to test Jiri.

i can only see it going two ways, Jiri via savage KO or Glover smothers him until the submission

Karl must be related to Carrot top in some way.

Should've gotten Carrot Top to play the IT clown, wouldn't even need much make up.

Yea, we all kinda figure if Glover gets him down and is on top, its basically a wrap.

Glover needs to walk through a potential chain-saw in order to get his clinch and TD setup. Also, one of Glovers best TDs is his left-hook…..

Jiris questionable chin might break, or old man glovers chin could just fall to the wind.

lhw sucks

Glover was kod in 13 seconds around that time.

will be a fun fight. Glover gets hurt badly from a lot of inferior fighters over the last few years and slowly latches on and gets the win. and somehow got to the title and won.

Jiri should be a big favorite

Karl is a very good LHW probably top 20 in the world with some of the best grappling in the division too. He had Jiri in a whole lot of trouble.

Now this was 4 1/2 years ago but Jiri has been fighting a lot of strikers since then and his bottom game and TDD haven't been tested much. Reyes who was rocked bad got him down but his grappling is shit so it didn't matter and Jiri got back up. Glover's threat there opens up his hooks too like when he hurt Jan before getting him down.

If Glover gets on top of Jiri he has one of the best top games ever @ LHW and Jiri will get finished IMO. Or beaten up so bad he's a corpse in there like Smith was after the beating he took.

I agree that Glover should lean on his grappling instead of trading strikes with Jiri; if/when they do stand up, he should be very careful of Jiri's range (I know this may seem basic and obvious, but it doesn't make it any less true).

i don't know why everyone seems to count Glover out on the feet. his left hook is still good and he has good timing. Jiri's defense is built of rhythmic head movement instead of reactive.
I totally agree. I wouldn't be surprized if Glover will be better on the feet than Jiri. Glover sure is a better boxer, but Jiri has been so far successful with his wild and risky approach to the striking and he sure can KO people. It will be an interesting fight..
