Not really controversial. If anything it came down to the first round, which i scored it for GSP.

Well we certainly don't give James Dean the GOAT award if we're knocking Orson Welles for being old and fat in a bad wine commercial.
But mainly this illustrates the idiocy of GOAT arguments in the first place. While also showing that by the better metric--fighters who fight and entertain--GSP is barely relevant compared to Fedor and Anderson.
You missed a few things along the way.Entertain? Go Watch WWE. This is a sport, not an action movie.
??? If cuts and bruises decided fights there would be lots of terrible decisionsHendricks beat that ass though. He did so much more damage. Thats whats wrong with the scoring system.
If both dudes punched each other three times a piece. One dude has a busted up face and bruises. One dude doesnt have a mark. Who won?
And people say BJ folded under pressure...well he didn't quit MMA after tough fights lol.
GSP's legacy is kind of a joke.
That's the thing about fighting. There's always going to be circumstances. If you throw twoodley and brock in the cage brock probably wins. If they were is some flat plane in the middle of space with no walls in a fight to the death for our alien overlords tyron has a chance by kiting brock around and attacking once brock is fatigued. If the fight happened during some anarchy period where's there's no weapons tyron would probably just run away cause it's the smartest thing to do then devise a trap to kill brock or maybe brock devises the plan to kill woodley. Who knows? Being a bigger stronger fighter doesn't make you the alpha, it doesn't give you the greatest chance for survival, it doesn't mean you are going to pull mad bitches, it really doesnt mean anything other then you are good at a sport. That's what fighting will always be is a sport. For so many people they just can't comprehend that.Quality post and true
GSP won the fight under the 10 point must rules that were in place
Hendricks would have won under Pride rules
GSP would have won if they kept on fighting since burger boy was dead tired
OK, so I agree with a lot of this. The scoring system is flawed when two rounds, both scored 10-9, can be so different in terms of damage/output/control.Hendricks beat that ass though. He did so much more damage. Thats whats wrong with the scoring system.

So this went to an interesting place. You get a like even if some of your post had me scratching my head. That's the thing about fighting. There's always going to be circumstances. Lol I think that's kind of the point though. My response was kind of bizarre and far fetched but it's showing you in a fun way how to look outside of the box about fgihting. Everyone is told that there's a champion and the greatest in the world yet that's kind of a facade. When people say things like Hendricks beat gsp the truth is he didnt. You can say well if the rules were like this he would have won or if this happened he would have won but whatever the excuse is the truth remains the same and gsp won. If you want to dabble into the what ifs to make it sound like Hendricks should have won then we can also dabble into the what ifs to support gsps win even more as well. It's a sport with a scoring system and it may or may not have a flawed scoring system but it's what we have and it's what make decisions on when it comes to who lost or won. Something the bigg rigg bandwagoners should come to terms withSo this went to an interesting place. You get a like even if some of your post had me scratching my head.

Gotcha. That was a fun way to get a fresh perspective.Lol I think that's kind of the point though. Never dropped piss cups when tested like your hero or call the police on drug testers like your hero.Never failed a drug test. Never ran from the sport/USADA like your hero.
He talked about it before the Condit fight but the plethora of bitter Silva and Aldo fanboys here don't care about facts. Only their deluded perception of reality.Bullshit. Everyone knew GSP had been thinking of retirement for 2 or 3 fights.
says a guy with no legacy at allAnd people say BJ folded under pressure...well he didn't quit MMA after tough fights lol.
