Media RESPECT for Dana White, backing Volkov against Corrupt/Stupid judges

but I was told UFC bribes the judges

you don't get extra credit for pointing out something that sucks slightly worse than yourself

Give Volkov an immediate rematch with Gane. That's the only thing they can realistically do to make it right.

Give him his win bonus and treat it as a win in general, done.
I mean.. there are like 5 good HWs and Volkov is one of them. It should not affect his ranking.

No watching the rankings.. Volkov has fought almost everybody in the top 10 lol. I think only Almeida and Spivac are left.

Unfortunately, the UFC can't treat it as a Volkov win because it'd then set a precedent anytime the judges fuck up in the future. Other fighters will use it as an example and ask for the same treatment.

Unfortunately? this is one of the benefits of the UFC making their own decisions and not being subject to retarded judges being a benefit. Appeals to the commission are a waste of time.
They gave Aldo a title shot fight after "losing" to Moraes after that horrible decision. I'm sure it's happened other times.

Point is, if they pretend Volkov won and Gane lost, we'll get fighters complaining in the future anytime judges make a wrong call (whether too egregious or not) and ask for the same treatment.

Also, giving Aldo a title shot was baffling at the time, but Cejudo had retired and Aldo is a huge name. I don't remember any other similar example.

I think the only realistic way to make it 'right' is to give Volkov a rematch.

Cool. Did he give Volkov his win bonus?
No question that Volkov should get his win bonus.

However, as for future bookings, Volkov couldn't finish or even significantly damage a one-footed fighter with limited grappling skills and no knockout power. He lost a round, had another round that was far closer than it should have been, and coasted for a round. He took almost as much damage as he gave. He won judging by what we saw on PPV, but it was a pretty bad performance that leaves no doubt that either Tom Aspinall or Jon Jones would thoroughly murder him in the cage.

If Gane's toes are good to go sometime in the next eight months or so then give Volkov another rematch, but otherwise book him as if he's coming off a loss. Don't treat this as a win and give him Aspinall or hold him out for the winner of Aspinall vs. Jones if that fight happens. Let him fight Blaydes again or Almeida if Gane won't be ready for a fight in a reasonable timeframe, and keep him away from his own murder scene.

Volkov should go directly to a title shot against aspinall, gane needs to rest and heal his injury, Volkov seems ok to go for the beginning or middle of 2025.

Volkov +1200, Aspinall -2000, and that's being generous with Volkov's odds. His only path to victory would be Aspinall blowing out a knee on the way to touching gloves.

damn, write "Volkov" is not that big of a name

always when I read "Volk" I think in Volkanovski (I don't even know if I wrote correctly, that's why makes more sense his "Volk" lol)

He’s probably the one behind it

lol my first thought was these situations look good because Dana can act outraged and pretend he's on the side of justice for the fighters and what not, but really he's pleased because Gane winning means they have more to keep working with in the French market lol.

I always appreciate Dana for speaking his mind, a more corporate CEO wouldn’t comment on something like this until he’s talked with all his corporate advisors before just going “they f*ucked you”
Yeah lots of people who hate Dana, are going to be shocked when the corporate president comes and consults his PR team before saying anything. It'll be bland.

But as everything with Dana.. he only criticizes judges if it goes against his narrative.
I mean Dana's not the most unbiased guy in the world. I'd rather know his opinion than anyone else that refuses to comment until forced. There's always going to be bias, it's only a matter if they cover it up or not.
