Michael Buffer will always be the gold standard. He knows how to command an audience without overdoing it.

Exactly, his brother is like the cheap knock off version with the same last name. I'll never forget when I first started watching UFC as a boxing fan thinking - why do they have a trashy version of Michael Buffer announcing.

Well look Mike has a thunderous voice. You either got that or you dont. So he dont need to do anything other than what he does, which is to stand with poise and let the voice ring out.

So Bruce is smart. He dont try to do what Mike does. He instead hypes the crowd up by suitably getting everyone ready for the bloodshed,and the fighters ready to engage in Mortal Kombat.

Plus he is very enthusiastic about doing it, which matches the intensity of the moment and the crowd. I love my announcers to love MMA as much as I do. Thats why the fans love The Buff.

These dorks in here dont represnt the masses.

The adz they get him to say are annoying af but that's not on Bruce. At $50k per fight night & $100k for PPV... he sayz wtf they tell him to say.

So on Viaplay where i stream UFC, you got this 15 sec skipp forward button. And man that button comes in handy every time that idiot start screaming

At some point, like every companies in the world, the UFC will have to modernize its image, its branding and its production, and Buffer is the first thing that will need to go.

He's the Tony Ferguson and the BJ Penn of announcers. He was good a long time ago, but he now has 10 losses in a row

I was thinking the same thing this weekend. I usually just turn the volume way down during his intros, but he seemed to be on another level for this event and I ended up muting most of them altogether lol

He obviously does a great job for the UFC and many people love him, so I get that it is just a matter of personal preference...and the guy is living his best life with a dream job, so can't hate on that. He is just not for me.

I hate the way the lighting changes in intensity and switches colors during the intros. So over the top and cringe. It's like they're trying to emulate various lighting patterns that happen in nature and it just comes off as so contrived and fake. And the walk out music BORING cut that shit out your song sucks dude just run to the cage lose the anouncements and fight, that's what the 30% of us who are here for the fights and not the fabricated drama really care about.
