Resident Evil 3 Remake

I think one of the redeeming factors of this game is the story and something it had over the first game. I felt they improved upon Brad, Carlos, and Jill by a lot compared to the original RE3 and I like how they gave more time to UBCS soldiers. It's just disappointing that they didn't give this game more time.
I'd have to go back and play it, which I don't think I've done in 15 years or so, to be sure.

Guys, please read the entirety of what I said. I said "I never played....and thought to myself I wish this was less Resident Evil ish." I'm not saying I didn't play the games. I'm saying I didn't play the games and THEN think to myself I wish they were different.
ohhhhh. I'm an idiot. <Lmaoo>

Lets stop the moaning, what are your top RE games dudes?

RE is like my favourite video game franchise. An 8/10 RE game is almost always a 9 or 9.5 in comparison to other games imo.

Ill list them with their ratings.

1. RE 4 -> personal rating of 10. This is imo the peak of the series, near perfect pacing, a near perfect action game, but admitedly a less RE type game. The game has a few flaws but no game is truly perfect, and a 10 doesnt mean its perfect but a game that's not only a masterpiece but is truly one of the best ever made.

2. RE2 remake-> personal rating of 9.5. Survival horror perfection. The first game does things better but my god is this a near perfect return to form. Some things are lacking yet again but this game smashes it out the park.

3. RE 1999 -> personal rating of a 9.5 Is the most replayble of the original RE games, the most fun and my god is Nemesis amazing.

4. RE7 -> personal rating of 9. If I were to tell a more modern gamer to play a true RE game, itd be this one. It suffers from a weaker back half like nearly every other RE but my god is the early portion perfect.

5. RE2 -> personal rating of 8.5. The music, game design, the RPD, nearly everything in this game is made to the highest standard. The story is also the best but Ive never played RE games for the story, more so the characters and actual gameplay but this one did everything fantastically well.

6a. RE1 -> personal rating of 8. The mansion is the best designed area in the whole series.

6b. RE1 Remake -> personal rating of 8. Is a better version of RE1 in nearly every way and yet RE1 is higher imo.

7. REvelations 2 -> Personal rating of 8. I honestly couldnt believe how good this was since I thought the original was meh. Some areas felt a bit artificial and boxy, but to retain the survival horror aspect, improve the gameplay and have a really engaging story was amazing. I loved this game and Raid mode is fun too.

I think RE3make will sit nicely at the bottom of this list, its a pretty great game imo.
My top 3 is the same, heck I bought a gamecube back in the day just to play 4 and I replayed it a few times. I do enjoy 7 alot more than others as I would consider myself a prime target audience person for that story.

Do you guys have a guilty pleasure game from the series? Even though it started the off course style of the games, the beginning of 5 was awesome, I can have fun with it even though it pissed me off at the same time.

We're right, it was someone who didnt play the original. It just wasnt him but another dude.

EDIT: it was @Senzo Tanaka
I read it and was like "why would he think this game is less Resident Evil-ish if he never even played the original games?" <Lmaoo>

1. RE2make
2. RE2
3. REmake
4. RE7
5. CV

Would probably round out my top five. Could replace CV with 4 easily but I have a softer spot for CV as it feels like the last classic style in the series.

1. REmake
2. RE2make
3. Resident Evil
4. Resident Evil 2
5. Code Veronica
6. Resident Evil 3
7. Resident Evil 0
8. Resident Evil 4

If youve played the original, youd like this game. RE3 is my favourite old school RE game so ofcourse I want a perfect RE3make that improves the downfalls of the original game.

Its not the 9.5 outta 10 that the original is, but its a good game, and not a 4 or 5 some other nonsense reviewers are giving it.

Its a solid 8 outta 10 game...
I might look at it when the price goes down, I doubt it though unless there's some patches or DLC. 60 bones is too much from the sound of it. The criticisms of the gameplay turned me off, like the way Nemesis functions and the critiques of the puzzles. Some of the big ones for me were Mercenaries mode being gone and sections of the game missing

Top 3 have got to be

RE 1 Remake. The epitome of survival horror. This and OG Silent Hill are the two things I think of when the genre is mentioned. An absolute classic.

RE 2 Remake. Took an absolute classic of a game and reimagined it into something even better imo. Loved the improved character development to old characters such as Marvin and the Birkins. Irons out certain plot holes or inconsistencies (for the most part), and gave much needed improvements to the Sherry section.

RE 4. Probably just down to personal preference that it's not rated higher. There's not much that's wrong with this game at all. There's a reason it's rated as the best RE game by a hell of a lot of people. Great balance of action, horror, and cheesy dialogue.
RE4 is kinda like the Evil Dead of RE to me. I really enjoyed it, haven't played it in many moons. My friends and I were quoting the vendor for years.

"What're buyin'? What're sellin'?

"Got lots of good things on sale, stranger."

So...RE4 with Chris basically. I can almost guarantee they'll do a RE4 Remake using the same engine and release it at the same time or a year later now.
It’s still going to be Ethan from 7 as the main protagonist but yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if they give RE4 the remake treatment given the locations of this one.

They could reuse a ton of assets from this game and have an RE4 Remake done quickly which is the rumor. RE8 this year and another remake next year.

That would mean he spent around 5 and a half hours playing it as the cutscenes are at over 2 hours long when put together. If he really did do the whole thing in that time then he might have just tried to speed run the whole thing, not explored, not read any documents, tried his best to run past all enemies, and skipped all cutscenes.
He doesnt look around much In games. He didnt know about the insight bath in Bloodborne until I told him. After Old Hunters came out.

REmake

RE3

I dont know 60 bucks for atleast 8.5 hours of fun, not considering replays on harder difficulties or chasing achievements or trophies on top of a pretty okay multiplayer that is really fun if youve got friends who play the game, is not that much to me.

Considering people spend easily 20£ (I think $30 is equivalent) for a 1.5 hour movie and snacks, or spending £5/$6 a day on coffee, Id say 60$ aint that steep. Im shocked games dont climb up higher with inflation etc, its why we have micro transaction bullshit, cause people wont pay more for games.

Im not saying I am everyone but the price for the content is fair to me considering the enjoyment I got out of it. If I can support, and let them know that I want more RE games with my wallet, then why not?

At least underline the rest of the sentence
It wasn't in bad faith, I just completely misread the sentence and thought he made a mistake instead of me being a complete moron lol

I wouldnt replay it, but RE5 aswell, I had lots of fun watching dumb shit happening with Wesker and boulder punching chris. Its like a retarded RE4, its not that great but its still good fun.

Id say the same for RE6 Leon campaign. Infact Leon Campaign is actually very good imo. A solid 7.5 outta 10. The rest of the game is meh though.

I don't care about achievements/trophies, I don't have friends who play it, I rarely see movies and never spend nearly that much on them, and I make my own coffee, lol. I have another short game like this in my library (Senua) and bought it for half the price IIRC.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, just doesn't sound like my cuppa.

I think people who just want to beat a game and move on will feel ripped off and I’d agree with them. For someone like me who will be running the game multiple times for the best times I can get and unlock everything I’ll easily get 20+ hours out of it and consider the $60 well worth it.
