Report: UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture Hospitalized After Racing Accident

Wait, they stuck him in a fucking Pro Mod?!
Who thought that was a good idea? Did he have a license?
I'm not quoting all of you nor am i quoting straight from the article, you can read it yourselves, but some of you need to read before commenting.

He's been doing this racing shit for some time now, this was all part of the licensing.

Randy will be right, didn't he walk to the hospital after a heart attack? That's pretty boss ha ha

Best of luck Randy.

Yes they gave him an NHRA level pro mod, he went to the Frank Halsey drag racing school. When I looked into it, the car is sponsored by SCAG power equipment, who got into the NHRA a couple years ago.
A few years back we were hanging out with Todd Tutterow in his pit at The Strip in Las Vegas. And this is one of the things I mentioned to him, that those cars and not for beginners, it requires years f experience to be competent enough to handle one of those machines.

ALOT of people just don't get how incredibly fast ProMods are. They don't "take off" they launch to 100 in 2 seconds, violently until top speed, some over 250 mph.

No question about that.
Yep, very violent machines.

I can’t believe they gave him a license.

Can someone tell me what a pro mod is
Seriously built race cars that generally run in the 5 second range in the quarter mile and do well over 200 MPH. It is generally a full tube chassis car with custom body that resembles a street car. So it could look like a 69 Camaro but the body is custom built around the chassis of the car and just made to look like a Camaro.

He did an interview that I saw, apparently he has a friend in the business that got him in that seat. I know, it’s crazy. I remember Erica Enders first foray into pro mod, engine had a problem and the at caught fire. She was in tears, she went right back to pro stock. Stevie Jackson had a bad crash a couple years ago, dude was shook bad. Those cars are legit scary.

Drag racing at that age and experience level? He should try his hand at something else.

He already pulled a Mir on an ATV a couple of years ago, with his girlfriend on the back
Dang. I like Randy, but it seems like he's been in an extended mid-life crisis since he retired. First he got a tattoo (he was one of the few fighters who didn't have one) and posted it on social media like an 18-year old. Then the...uh..video leak. Now a couple of high-risk, high-speed accidents.

Look at Big Daddy Don. Lost his foot from an engine explosion, so he created a faster car with the engine in the back.
They're definitely a different breed.
