Renan Barao vs Dominick Cruz

hopefully barao, cruz is not exciting and never really has been to me, kinda has the frankie edgar style, box and mix in takedowns to point score, barao by ko
 
All I know is that Cruz has been on the longest layoff as a result of injury among any elite fighter in MMA that I can remember/think of at this moment.


I think the chances are high that his first fight back will show that he's got tremendous ring rust. Might take him a COUPLE of fights to get back into the groove. Who knows.
 
It will all come down to how Cruz looks (especially his movement) after his terrible injuries. If he comes back 100% somehow it should be a good close fight.

If I was Renan, I would leg kick the shit outta Cruz. You know Cruz is gonna be hesitant on his feet and want the take down.
 
I believe Barao should easily crush Cruz, especially with the whole 2 year recovery from knee surgery thing

That would make Barao into Sherdog's most hated fighter overnight.
 
this fight shouldn't go on. Cruz should lose his belt. Barao should be promoted, and Cruz should take a few tune up fights. Fighting Barao after being off two years with a bum knee and multiple surgeries is just stupid on Cruz's part. I guess he has the pride of a champion but I feel it will do his fight ego and career more harm than good.
 
Cruz coming off a two plus year layoff and two knee surgeries , and since the last time Cruz Fought Oct 1 2011 , Barao has beaten Brad Pickett, Scott Jorgenson, Urijah Faber, Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland.

My Money is on Barao
 
I think Barao is slightly better and that he will win. Cruz seems like a good guy but I find his fights very boring, so I hope that Barao wins so we don't have to see a champ jumping around for 4:30 min every round and then finish with a TD to win the fight on points.

Barao should take this fairly easily it could have been a competitive fight but with Cruz's layoff I'm sure he's going to be rusty
 
This question doesn't even need to be asked.

Barao will win and in style. Cruz should be worried and I don't know why his title hasn't been stripped yet. It's been what...almost two years since he has fought?
 
Barao would take even if it was before Cruz's injury.
