I think people will be incredibly disappointed by this fight. Not a Jones hater and I think in his 2011-2015 run, he was probably the best fighter I ever saw but he hasn't had a good performance in literally over 7 years, is now 35 years old, and is coming off of a 3 year layoff at a weight class he has never fought at before... he is going to be a shell of himself.

If he went up after beating Cormier in 2014, I bet he would have become the HW champ but instead, he pissed away his career doing drugs outside of the cage and wasting everyone's time scraping past inferior competition inside the cage. Reyes, Santos, Smith, and even Gus by the time of the rematch were all not worthy title challengers IMHO and all just a sign of LHW being as tapped out for talent as FLW was when Demetrius was fighting the likes of Ray Borg and Chris Cariaso instead of rightfully moving up.

I'm sorry but Gane cruises to an incredibly easy (and incredibly lackluster) decision over Jones who looks slow and misses the vast majority of his strikes/telegraphed takedown attempts. Wouldn't be surprised if Jones looks Paulo Filho-esque out there after all of this time off

That being said, Jones had trouble grappling and especially striking anyone that was close to his size/height. That's magnified at HW. Gane is also a better striker than Dom and much bigger, heavier, stronger

Reyes was in crazy shape for that fight. I think Bones does manage to put Cyril on his back, but I can also see Cyril giving Bones problems on the feet.. I can't think of any HW that moves as well as Cyril.

Not a Jones fan (you have to say this on Sherdog, just in case a retard accuses you of being biased), but Reyes has decent wrestling and good TDD.
Gane looked clueless on the floor vs Ngannou. Ngannou, for fucks sake, who also looked clueless on the floor vs Stipe.

Jones grew up with big siblings. The brotherly beatings they gave each other im sure jones will be fine at a higher weight.

So do you think Ngannou is wet doo-doo? Because gane handily outstruck ngannou, who only needs 1 punch but couldn't find it over 25 minutes. And it was a razor close 48-47 for ngannou who very luckily ended up on top in a 50-50 scramble in the final round.

we dont know what injuries jones had. this was his 4th fight in 13 months.

HW jones is going to look very different.

You'd have a point if Arthur Jones wasn't a 2x NY State Wrestling champion, let alone his more notable NFL career as a 320lb defensive end. And hasn't been brought in constantly for Jones' camps throughout his career because he still trains.

Pretending Arthur Jones is just some big brother is retarded. Complain about training with Chandler Jones, the younger brother who's just an NFL football player, sure as Chandler comes in too to help push Jon in camps, but Arthur could've gone into MMA and both he and Jon have been very vocal about this. He's not just Jon's big brother.

Faster athlete. .Faster doesn't mean better.
Gane is a stronger athlete.
But isn't very smooth on the ground. Reyes, to what I've seen, is the better athlete in that position.
We are going to get to see if I'm wrong here in a few weeks though. So that's cool

I am a Jon Jones fan. Just know Gane poses a real threat.

Still better for Jon than fighting Francis. Patient Francis was the nightmare matchup for Jon Jones.

I was comparing their speed in ground fighting positions and why it looks like reyes is better there than gane has shown to be. Literally said nothing about the stand up of either guy.
