I loved sci fi as a kid and because of Star Wars there was plenty attempts on TV.....but I didn’t realize it was cheesy then. Stuff like Buck Rogers and Battlestar Gallactica.
Does anyone remember Battle Beyond the Stars. Made in 1980 it had a crazy cast. Robert Vaughn, George Peppard, John Saxon, Sybil Danning. James Cameron actual was hired to do models and was eventually the man that did the special effects. It was his first big break. He met Bill Paxson who was a carpenter on the set and hired him for Aliens a few years later. The ship in the film was reused in 5 other low budget sci fi films. I loved it as a kid....along with The Last Starfighter and Night of The Comet.
