Remember UFC 200 Main Event Was Nunes vs Tate

If you know this then why are you making this thread?

The two situations are nothing alike.
Because they are having all these issues finding a main event worthy of the event and it would be awful if ended similar to 200.

Nunes-Tate was the only real championship fight, and that's when title fights would always headline over non- (or interim) title fights. If that same card happened now, I think Aldo-Edgar probably headlines, with Brock-Hunt as co-main.

That being said, Nunes-Tate as the headliner seemed absurd even back then. But in retrospect, with that being the start of Nunes's title run and GOAT status, it actually aged very well.
Conor vs Nate headlined over a miesha title fight 4 months prior

That's a fair point, but Nate was a late replacement. The card was specifically built around Conor, and it was supposed to be a title fight against RDA. It was a pretty obvious exception to the rule.

Damn, history repeats itself for another underwhelming main event.

It's crazy how they put that as the main event over Brock/Hunt, DC/Anderson and Aldo/Edgar.

Just absolute blasphemy.
At least they were following the rules of having a title fight be above everyone else even if it was WMMA. Unlike when they let Conor headline over a WMMA title.

UFC 200 was suppose to be the Nate rematch, but that didnt happen until 202
For a silly reason: because Conor refused to do media.

People seem to have forgot it. Conor and Nate were ready to go and UFC intentionally removed the fight as "punishment" for Conor

People imagine UFC do everything in their power to get big fights for these mega cards - but they've shown they'll happily lose out on fights if they need to show a fighter who's boss
