I start MMA training Thursday and they are requiring I buy headgear. Could someone recommend me something comfortable, and not overly large.

Thanks everyone!

I use Top-Ten training headgear; full review is here:

Other headgear that seems to be popular and recommended here in G&E:

KO Fightgear:

if possible go somewhere where you can try on several types. Nothing worse than buying headgear online and realizing you dont like the way it fits.

^^Thanks. The site seems to be inaccesible right now for me, but I'll check it out when it's back online.

Anyone try the Fairtex head protection? I can get it at a reasonable price of 70$ plus Canada Post shipping from The Fight Network here in Canada.

I'm going to be buying their shinguards for 50$ and thought of buying some other gear from them as well and thought it would be easier just to go with all Fairtex gear such as focus and thai pads.

I was thinking about getting the Rival Headgear due to the reviews I've seen of it but hope to hear any pros or cons of the Fairtex Headgear.

Thanks for your time,
D

I use Title GEL full face. They ship quickly, have good customer service and the headgear is good quality leather, offers good protection and visibility. Just my opinion.

I have to suggest what I sell, Hayabusa, but the Fairtex classic that MMA overload is really nice too. It has served many well.

Top Ten is the shit and has a lifetime warranty, and if you don't like the feel of the regular top ten headgear they sell the leather ones in america now.

I need help selecting reasonably priced headgear but I know that you shouldn't skimp when it comes to your head. Right now I'm looking at

FightGear Airmax
Air Max Training Headgear at Ringside.com

Titan Airmax (it seems the same but cheaper)
Titan Air Max Training Headgear at Ringside.com

Titan Mexican Style Headgear
Titan Mexican Style Headgear at Ringside.com

FightGear Mexican Style
Mexican Style Training Headgear at Ringside.com

I've heard mexican style headgear offers more protection, feel free to put in better options.

i would personally go with the fight gear Mexican style

Thanks, any more input?
A major question I have is fightgear and titan's gear of comparable quality? They seem very similar but differing in prices.
