Recommend headgear

If you're thinking about paying for Fairtex gear, consider Twins. The headgear is awesome- great craftmanship, quality, and protection.

Ordered mine from Nine Dragons Martial Arts Muay Thai Equipment and received it in two days flat from Texas to NorCal.

Twins Special HGL-2 Headgear

$49.99 + 8.50 S&H = $58.49 shipped to you in 2-3 days max.

Good luck finding better gear at a better price with faster shipping :icon_chee

BTW, keep an eye out for a full review of Twins head gear, shin guards, and 16oz gloves

Honestly, and i know i won't make any friends with this, but i find that head gear is the one place you can cheap up on, AS LONG AS IT FITS RIGHT. Head gear is mostly there to prevent cuts so any cheap pleather with crap padding works fine imo. Just make sure it fits right though. I have the 30 dollar fight sports model and it works fine for me. I have 100 dollar gloves 80 dollar shin guards and 30 dollar hat, go figure.

I wear an Adidas headguard and that is really good but it has no cheek protectors

You should not buy anything sold at the mall. No matter how much of a fighter you are, if you get "fight clothes" at the mall, you'll look like a poser.

hahah, that made me laugh. I look at the Tapout, affliction or whatever at the mall, but I never buy it. Over priced garbage. I'd rather spend that money on equipment or something useful in training. :icon_chee

I have that head gear, and it fits REALLY good. Doesn't feel like a whole lot of padding, but I don't care a whole lot about that. Oh the leather is really stiff, still, but it is new and not broken in yet. I'd buy this again, but I will post after it has been used and broken in.

I agree with Dabappa that the Top Ten Face & Cheek provides the best protection. If you're concerned about your head & brain being rattled (which all of us should be) buy something that actually protects you. It also carries a liftime warrenty.

Best place to buy:
TOTIRO-USA TOP TEN Training Cheek and Head Guard
