MT/KB Japan Recent fights/results/news from Japan II

We'll learn about people IF Nagashima wins this fight. Who makes a big deal out of it. If the other guy wins nobody will care.
Losing to a guy that dresses up like a female Anime character is a bigger deal than losing to 1080P or whoever he is. But ya, is anyone really making a big deal about this fight to begin with anyways?

Not really. Nagashima's thing is very sad once you realize he's like 32 now.

What I'm saying is this fight consists of two fighters who are not top 20 super welterweights, but if one guy in particular wins he'll be given credence as being one of the best in the world because of having a Rajadamnern title. And the people giving him credence will be those who would normally pay no mind to a 154 pound Rajadamnern title fight, or for that matter, any Rajadamnern title fight.

How does this fight get made in the first place? Like, what's the rationale Rajadamnern stadium can give for allowing this? @anorak

According to Nagashima's wiki page he doesn't even fight Muay Thai. Maybe he did almost a decade ago but that is irrelevant right now. How can he be a top 10 ranked fighter when he doesn't fight Muay Thai and doesn't even win fights in general?

The sick feeling in the pit of my stomach is growing as I think about him winning.

Why is a credited stadium title given out in such a paper fashion? Shouldn't you be going after Raja for this situation rather than people that are going to be giving credit for winning an assumed legit title?

*Edit: you did in the following post.

I didn't even realise that was for the Raja title. LOL! Better hope T1000 wins this shit.

His wiki isn't complete. Think he had at least 1 but maybe a couple MT fights in Macau or something. Totally makes a huge difference :D

Its not. I believe he means that if T-98 wins, he would be given more attention than he deserves because he's technically the Raja champ

Oh also, a former Raja ranker has already been a cosplayer. Nagashima once forced a thai that's from his gym to cross dress

I could have sworn it was said this was a title fight.

No, I very much want T-98 to win, especially when I thought it was for the title.

"Nagashima makes history by capturing the prestigious Rajadamnern title, and becomes only the ___ fighter not from Thailand to do so." I can sleep easier now knowing such things won't exist regardless of result.

Why? Maybe they have a different way of going about it, but they seem to be about the same quality. Not like he would be beating Yodwicha.
Because we would get to facetiously act as if he did beat a guy like Yodwicha. :D

Excuse my ignorance but i have no idea who T-98 is or who is fighting who in japan. Does anyone care to explain?

His real name is Takuya Imamura (his nickname is the muay thai guirilla) , he's been a fixture of the Japanese muay thai scene for a while, mostly fights for the REBELS promotion. Not a very good fighter, even by nonthai standards, but was gifted a title fight vs Navi Eaglemuaythai which he won. He's defended the title once in Thailand, Coca already linked the fight earlier in the thread. He's fighting on the Knockout card against Nagashima, the famous Cosplay fighter. The fight may or may not be for the Raja title, there seems to be some debate about this.

I'm glad that we have we have video evidence, for posterity purposes, of the exact moment in time when the Rajadamnern title lost whatever credibility it had left.

There always have been paper champs, be it thai or not.

T-98 isn't great (or really "good" by some standards), but he should still take this easily.

Nagashima was never a world beater, but at least in his MAX days he had awkward footwork he imported in from Nihon Kenpo and could throw volume. People figured him out, but he could still surprise a lot of lower level Japanese guys.

These days after he flitted away his prime years trying to make a living as a prowrestler/C-list celebrity, he's just a glass chinned bum rusher with no cardio.
