MT/KB Japan Recent fights/results/news from Japan II

Now I want to see some sparring sessions of Kaew and Gonapar! :D

Only 14% of voters in the real time poll thought that Koya would win this.

EDIT: Masato suggested on the commentary that they should do a 62.5kg fight between Koya and Hiroya for brotherly revenge.

Koya: 'Thank you everyone who believed and supported me. My most sincere thanks. Gratitude is all I feel. Thank you. K-1 is going to become even bigger. Please watch out. Thank you!'

Tag Team Steel Cage is the only way to go.

A few things from the K-1 Japan post event presser

- The executive producer is changing. Kensaku Maeda will be passing the baton to Miyata Mitsuru (CEO of Good Loser and producer of Krush). Reason cited is to ensure fair use of talent (since Maeda is also the operator of the K-1 gyms). Seems to be on good terms with no major scandals cited
- Koya Urabe will be giving up his right to challenge the 60kg title that he earned by winning the tournament. Instead he looks to be joining the 62.5kg division
- Gonnapar asks also to join the 62.5kg tournament field

Would they really make Kaew leave if he lost?

Not that i think Gonnapar would beat Kaew, kaew seems like a more complete fighter.

Nah, Kaew is actually really popular in Japan now. He's trended on twitter a couple of times and K-1 Japan is promoting him as 'the symbol of the new K-1'.

For all the crap we give K-1 Japan about unwilling to extend their talent hiring, when someone manages to stumble into their promotions they are pretty good about keeping them. Massaro Glunder got a ton of fights and they're giving tournament shots to Yun Qi and Gonnapar.

Yeah i thought so, it wouldn't make sense for their star to leave.

I'm hoping we'll see more of Gonnapar too. Japanese fighters will need to learn how to take a kick.

Yamazaki has spent too much of his career fighting against pillow-fisters who won't strike back

Jk. hope his leg is alright

So Gonnapar is apparently going to be fighting today. 6 days after his fight vs. Yamazaki.

He was originally prepping to fight a Kunlun fighter in a Weerasakrek event, but the Kunlun fighter pulled out and he was able to go into the Yamazaki fight in fight condition. Now they've found a substitute for the Weerasakrek event (another Thai, not someone I've heard of) and he's fighting again

Also. Tenshin Nasukawa will be defending one of his belts vs Murakoshi Yuta (former RISE champion) at RISE 113. No word on a stream, but hopefully its up on Abema so I can flip that on since I'll already be watching the RIZIN event
