MT/KB Japan Recent fights/results/news from Japan II

Say it aint so. Its the only org that still feels like K-1. I understand that there is internal political conflict, but how exactly would something like this ensure the demise of an organization?

If Maeda walks away with Takeru, the Urabe brothers, Yamazaki, and like a quarter of the Krush roster, then its goodbye. They've been building up for a mainstream TV slot with those guys as the stars.

The new EP of K-1 is doing damage control on twitter, saying that no card changes are expected up to the end of the year. He promises to resign if they cannot work this out.

stung by bees or what?

T-98 becomes the first farang ever to defend his stadium belt in Thailand by defeating Pume Ansukumvit (Navi dropped out of the fight on 2 weeks notice). Muay thai legend status confirmed. His next step is defeating K-1 legend Nagashima in KNOCK OUT.

In less notable muay thai news, Superlek defeats Yasuyuki via 2R high kick.

Alamos defended in Thailand a few times I think. Also I don't think Japanese fighters are considered Farang. Its derived from Faranj, the Islamic term for Europeans.

Thanks I was defo mistaken on Alamos. T-98 is only the first Japanese to defend a stadium belt in Thailand. That makes him only an elite muay thai fighter, not quite a muay thai legend yet.

Do Japanese really not count as farangs? How many farang champs have there been then? I remember only Sari and Alamos from Europe (Skarbowsky? Pinca?).

Also former Koshien fighter Ishida Katsuki defeated Kato Tsuyoshi to win the MA Kick Super LW title and improve his undefeated pro record to 12-0-2.

.
I think those are the only two. Skarbowsky was ranked #1 at his weight in Raja on more than one occasion, but never won a belt. Pinca to my knowledge never went into the stadium scene.

Ah yes, forgot about them. Though Yusef may disqualify himself from farang status by bringing a Moroccan flag to all his fights.
Maybe, but by that thinking would Alamos or Sari count as 'farang'? I think they're both of Persian or Algerian or Moroccan decent or whatever, at any rate I doubt they're Caucasian. And Mendoca probably isn't white either.
