Reasons to like DDP's chances against izzy.

Izzy is just too fast man. He's also the best counter puncher in the game.

DDP suprised me last night but I still don't like his chances vs Izzy at all.

yeah but DDP isn't afraid to grapple and most likely can take Adesanya down. once he does that, it's going to open up his possibilities on the feet a lot, and we already know he's not afraid to throw down. DDP's mental game is a big reason i picked him to beat Whittaker. he won't be intimidated and he won't allow the gravity of the siutation to handcuff him into not wanting to make a mistake the same way a lot of other fighters do.

Compared to the majority of izzie's middleweight opponents, 6'1 and 76 inch reach is a rangier fighter than what he's been facing: Gastelum, tavarez, vettori, whittaker, costa, canonier, and romero are all less rangy. Brunson and old man silva are the only opponents longer than ddp that izzy beat. the other two (jan and pereira) he lost to.

the other thing is, is his reach really 76in or is he pulling some Chuck Liddell fuckery there. Chuck says he really has like an 80in reach and used to pull his shoulder blades back and bend his elbows a bit to shorten his reach when they'd measure him so the opponents would be surprised when he gets in the ring at how long he really is.

Yeah, it's hard to rely on these measurements, but just watching DDP fight you can tell that he's a big fighter with a deceptively long reach.

Ufc messes up those measurements all the time. Volk was saying last night that he definitely doesnt have 71.5 reach lol.

Been saying it since the Whittaker fight got booked DDP is going to ko Izzy he’s not going to be afraid he has nothing to be afraid of. Izzy cannot one shot ko DDP.

Izzy can one shot just about anyone. Maybe DDP will be different

On paper Forrest had all the attributes to give Silva fits, but it didn't really turn out that way.

Agree on everything. He will not back down and his grappling advantage is very big. If he can take Izzy down or just generally swarm him, anythinf is possible. His chin and size will surely also help.

It's funny how so many people have done a 180 on Du Plessis. Before the Whittaker fight he was getting destroyed and had no chance as he was out of his depth (not what I thought). Now he's favourite aagainst Adesanya <45>

I don't believe DDP should the favorite against the "long" time champion. DDP does fight at a high pace. He isn't afraid to drown with the opponent when pushing the pace. We never seen Israel fatigue before. I think it's one of those fights that it's going to end quickly with a technical display from Israel or it might be a rough one when DDP gets going.

What I saw was a Whittaker who wasn't expecting a guy mostly in southpaw and wasn't expecting a guy that was a better grappler than him. He was caught off guard in both cases
