Really shocked at the lack of promotion of Tate/HH

Yes they have not given it much love because nobody is excited to see Tate lose her 3rd title fight, she is jobber #2 for UFC 196 in my opinion. They claim Miesha poses all these different problems but that is just to sell the fight to casual clinger fans because they will believe anything.

Putting Holm and Tate on a card with Conor is giving them a lot of potential exposure. But they could have run an ad for this fight during the Superbowl or something.

I think keeping Holly as the co-main with the main-event being a non-title fight, speaks loud enough about the UFC's regard for Holly Holm as the the BW Champion and the woman to defeat the Unstoppable Ronda.

I don't understand why the UFC doesn't promote the shit out of Tate. She fine and can fight.

Neither has a particular interesting personality. Tough fight to promote.

one could make the case that by sub-maining, that Holm is defacto being more promoted than she otherwise would be. If all these Scandinavian Conor tribalists get to watch a tall blonde alpha female destroy her next opponent, that could work out better for Holm in the long run.

Agree TS, this fight has certainly gone under the radar.

Was surprised the Anderson vs. Bisping fight was quietly promoted also.

Shows you who the UFC is focusing on these days huh? (sorry Sage/Paige)

Zuffa spend $5 million on a single ad? Inga please! Their style is to spend $10k on an ad and show it 5 million times...

Where have all the threads been about Holly from people who claimed to be Holly fans and not just Ronda haters? This is a huge fight for her. If Ronda doesn't come back probably the biggest one left. Yet threads about Rousey's looks still get more traction.

Its funny that as much as people claim to hate Ronda, the UFC got the very reaction it wanted when pushing the polarizing aspects. If the UFC can get more people interested in Holly while they are there for Conor then great. But it knows the interest in Holly was largely based on what she already did.

The UFC is still butthurt about Holm beating Rousey.

Just shows a lack of professionalism by the UFC.

No different than WWE

It does though. They have money for X spots advertising. Every spot for Holly takes one from Conor.

No it doesn't.
You spend to make $$$
UFC promoted three fights heavily for 100
They promoted RR when she was co-main heavily.
Also, promotion does not mean million dollar ads.
holly could get on most major talk shows, etc.

Yeh, I am not a Zuffa sucks type, but they blew it IMO on this!

The UFC's loyalty is to whoever can make them the most money at the moment. Sherdog is a microcosm of the fan base as a whole and the mild interest simply doesn't justify the extra promotional dollars for people that are tuning in already.

It's a billion dollar promotion company, it's not like it forgot promotion can help. This is simply knowing its target demo. Fans may buy into the drama but the UFC isn't going to hurt it's own bottom line because it's mad about someone losing that may never be coming back.

UFC is still wayyyyy too butthurt over the Ronda murder to properly showcase Holly.

And if they spend $10 on Conor to make $28 and spend $10 on Holly to make $22 they will spend it on Conor. For 100 every dollar they spent on GSP took away from Brock. GSP is a huge draw and proven, he was worth it. Is Holly?

Unfortunately, Holly has zero media charisma so there's little point in trying to turn her into a "personality" like Rounda or Conor. If Holly's going to win fans it's going to be with her performances in the ring, and the UFC are very cleverly giving her the biggest possible stage to shine on.

Not true at all.
WMMA has proven to be a different fanbase than Conor's.
They need to reach out better to the RR casuals.
PPV buys are not singular.
The average 4-8 people watching.
The reason RR did so well was due to her getting the non-MMA diehards excited.
Holly was red hot after killing her and they let her die off.
