Nah was gonna do up to Dollhouse only
The original The Crazies sucked. I reviewed it earlier in this thread. The Crazies(2010)- A little let down by this one. Enjoyed the early scenes of townspeople becoming crazy and I thought that most of the focus was going to be the town descending into madness. But it pretty quickly became focused on the military quarantining the area, which was much less interesting to me. Overall well done enough to keep me watching but not one I'd rewatch anytime soon.

Talk to Me- This year has been pretty lukewarm for horror so was very excited going into this. And it exceeded my expectations. The most interesting/unique take on haunting/possession I've seen in a long time. And it manages to live up to its great initial concept and never really lost steam for me. Last third of the movie is probably its strongest part and the ending couldn't have been more perfect. Had some issues with certain characters that grew as the film went but in retrospect might actually add to the movie. Wouldn't say it lives up to the hype of "Scariest Movie Ever!", not that I really cared, still easily best horror movie of the year so far, maybe even better than anything last year too.
8.5/10
I'm pretty sure I saw Statham had a producer credit on this. There were definitely scenes where he would do something stupidly over the top or say a dumb line and almost wink at the camera.Meg 2 - The Trench
Jurassic World wannabe. Unmemorable characters. Terrible dialogue. Substitutes tension and suspense with silly monster action. Just like in the first Meg movie, Jason Statham is not suited to be in this type of movie because there's a an aura of invulnerability to the actor that he can't shake off which results in the viewers not buying the character is in any danger at all. I give the movie props though for its female eye candy cast.
Rating 5/10
I'm impressed with your movie choices, hell I like you, you can come over my house and fuck my sister
Forced Vengeance (1982)
A Vietnam War soldier, Chuck Norris, visits Hong Kong passing through in transit and returns there hired as a casino security guard. Norris goes ballistic after the deaths of his two friends; a casino director and assistant director. Now Norris fights the Hong Kong gangsters who are after him and his two female friends. It is an entertaining movie with lots of fight scenes, it also has its silly moments.

Well done western. On a visual level the cinematography is fantastic and really brings the setting to life. Paired with a great score it sets a mood and tone early on.
Great cast and the performances are very good. The standout for me was Ray Winstone. I thought the most interesting performance or casting choice was Danny Huston. Not the type of role I'm used to seeing him in, but I thought he did a very good job.
It is a pretty simple but well done story and premise, with well done characters and a respectable amount of emotional core. Then the direction, performances and atmosphere elevate it and give it an added sort of touch and texture.
I did think the editing or something felt a bit off, especially toward the end. As if certain scenes were cut that might've helped the transitions between some moments.
Overall 7.5/10 very good.
I've always figured these pure evil guys were right in Danny Huston's wheelhouse. 30 Days of Night, Edge of Darkness etc.
Pretty good one two generation punch with John Huston that doesn't get recognized as much as Douglas / Sutherland etc.
THOR: RAGNAROK
Hailed for years as one of the best MCU films, I finally got around to watching it. I was underwhelmed. Looked good, nice set designs, interesting score with the synthwave that I liked...but all in service of an empty spectacle. There could have been a good movie that all took place on the Jeff Goldblum planet with escaping from bondage and an uprising and an end to the gladiator games and escape. Or there could have been a good movie about the history between Odin and Cate Blanchett, how she obtains power upon her return and what happens when she does, and ultimately what has to happen to Asgaard.
Instead the movie has both of these storylines and neither one gets told properly. It just skips to a snapshot along the arc for each one again and again and skips the entire meat of both journeys. At the end...I didn't feel much of anything for either story. It skipped making two good movies in order to make a long music video with about a third of what each story needed to properly breathe.
6.2 / 10
So you liked it?
Well...not really to be honest. It just mostly went by quickly enough and was put together in a mostly digestible way and looked and sounded good enough that I couldn't really drop it into the 5s. I think I gave Black Panther a 6.0 and I liked this a sliver more so...6.2.
I'd never watch this again but I just can't really think of enough reasons to sink it below a 6. Its marks are basically almost all for production value and not being incoherent.
