White people are so funny. It's called a hairline. It's not a hair transplant and has nothing to do with braids. Even black people with long hair go to the barbershop and get their hair lined up with some type of design. when you have long hair they usually cut up to an inch of the hair down so their hairline is easy to say than they look crispy.

It's to maintain a lineup essentially, makes the braids look crisper.
