Theres a.... comedic scene where an asshole pulls out his own brains.

Only part thats good in that stink fest is the one girl's ass.

The character didn’t make a totally retarded decision that any half sane person wouldn’t have made. Yeah, that scene was dumb pulling a piece of his own brain out. And yes, that chicks ass was the best part of the movie.

Alien: Resurrection is definitely the worst of the first four but the decades since have made me appreciate some of its virtues more, partly in light of what has come afterward. It benefits this way like the Star Wars prequels, Predator 2, Robocop 2, etc.

It's a legitimately good sequel. I've grown to like it more and more over the years. Way back when it was kind of like "Danny Glover isn't Arnold" and the Predator face looked a little shitty but pretty much everything else is done well and Danny didn't need to be Arnold. In fact it was better to have a hero of human proportions than to just throw a different superman in there if it wasn't going to be Arnold himself.

I liked the predator face other than super close up.

Only reason i put Resurrection before Covenant is one scene. Where they are escorting Perlman, and pokes him with the barrel in the back. He then snatches it, tells him to NEVER touch him again, and then gives him the gun back. I love that scene for whatever reason.

For covenant a lot can happen in a couple thousand years. Maybe something catastrophic happened on home world and that's why the engineers seemed so regressed and surprised at the ships return. They even looked different to the one on the ship. Or they finally reached enlightenment or something only to get wiped out by one of their creations creations using another one of their creations Lol.
Probably just a shitty script though instead

Really I think the film ends up as a greatest hits of late 80's action, you effectively have characters from Lethal Weapon, Aliens, Running Man, etc in a Predator film which I spose was quickly out of fashion when Jurassic Park hit and liek say Robocop 2 I don't think it had a chance to grow as much of a following on VHS.TV as the 80's films before that happened.

The Alien films for me its reallty the scripts which have gone downhill, you could argue Jeunet was a bit of a mismatch to the franchise I spose and Scott visually isnt the Scott of the late 70's/early 80's but still he makes films a cut above standard Hollywood blockbusters visually, Fincher maybe was at his best yet but still very good as well. Its been mostly strong direction let down by increasingly bad scripts which hacks working to exec orders involved.
