Question/Advice Ranked dead last.... trying not to go 0-10

Confidence does not equal competence.
You need to be competent to win fights.
Mindset is huge, but there is no way to unlock competence, only build it with hard work on specific details.

The 'Monk in Thailand' story is a common hoax I've heard from various martial arts guru's, monks do not get involved with boxing at all, they are prohibited.

I left the fight early, took little to no damage and yet experienced it. 9 main events. All the best fighter characters emerge through the shameful lens of loser or bum, this allows creative freedom and instils in him the unwillingness to surrender to himself. I have yet to through a single attack with intent. It’s all been data collection. Fight 10 is cutoff, now my betting odds pay outs upswing will offer me a chance to become rich.
wow, big brain time
rooting for ya, mastermind!

How does a guy with zero ammy fights and zero pro wins who doesn't train at a gym get offered a pro main event slot? Are regional MMA shows in Montana actually that bad?

It's the only pro fight on an otherwise ammy event.

I was confused by that too so I clicked the event.

All kidding aside much respect for getting in there post 40. Good luck denying the Skull Collector

Better to be known as the Brooklyn Brawler of MMA than some random average fighter

"I wanted to know if it was possible for a guy to create a style without a teacher" aka my ego is massive and i'm delusional beyond hell. Sorry sherbro but you're getting finished in the first round. The only way you improve your skills is by training with people better than you and getting your ass kicked in the gym everyday. What makes you honestly think you can beat a professional fighter, who's on a strict training regime, sparring with a room of killers everyday? Check yourself before you wreck yourself ninja

But he's only losing every time to collect data. Not taking punishment, and giving up at any sign of adversity.

Some might call it heartless, or perhaps even throwing fights, but that's low level thinking. He could have won any of those fights, but what knowledge would be gained? The unenlightened may not realize it yet, but this is what all future greats will do. Collect data until you are finally ready to win. And once you've reached that state, there's no going back. You'll only be nine more wins away from a respectable .500 record and then the world is your oyster.

TS looks better than what I expected to see from reading the thread. With proper MMA training and sparring, he could get some Ws. He’s clearly not afraid to get in the cage and has a Muay Thai base he can build from.

Props to Teer for going out there. Hopefully he'll get an MMA win to match his Muay Thai win before Father Time sits him down for good.

Hey Sherdogs.
Its this guy saying yo

I decided to try my hand at MMA at age 42. I dont train at any gyms and have never been affiliated with any teams. Straight independent the whole way. I wanted to know if it was possible for a guy to create a style without a teacher.
Im giving it one last shot. https://www.tapology.com/fightcente...tyler-the-skull-collector-mcnett-vs-erik-teer
Im now staring at ten straight losses. I skipped the amateurs, and made my pro debut as a main event fight.
You're 0-9 and want to give it one last shot? I think you already know how this is gonna go. Better to get out now than risk something bad happening. Don't go for 0-10!
