Rampage vs Forrest revisited

forrest. easy. The only reason people see it as close is because the forums were still in love with the rampage from pride. All in all forrest sent page out the octagon limping like a mutherf*cker

I scored the fight for Rampage. Forrest clearly dominated round 2 but I think too many people give Forrest points for punching the air in a few of his fights.

Lol, what a stinking pile of bullshit.

Rampage should have gotten the nod (or at least a draw to keep the belt)

Round 1 - Rampage did more damage

Round 2 Forrest clearly won and some thought it was enough for a 10-8. This round clouded too many peoples' vision though. It was only 1 round

Round 3 - Rampage. Closest round in the fight but Rampage did more damage and edged it.

Round 4 - Rampage - Clearly. Forrest only landed about 2 strikes and had a failed sub attempt that wasn't even close. He was slammed for his efforts. Can't believe that I have seen some people say Forrest won this round or it was close. It wasn't

Round 5 - Forrest. 2nd closest round in the fight but Forrest outworked him and earned the round

Rampage won rounds 1,3, 4
Forrest won rounds 2,5

Rampage should have kept the belt

This is exactly how I viewed it and thought it wad pretty obvious. Like I said in my previous post, too many people, including Joe Rogan, give.Forrest points for punching the air ot even shots that are blocked.

also if we talk of luck,it was lucky for rampage that all he had to do was beat a journeyman to recieve a title shot

Rampage was on a 4 fight win streak and was the last man to have beaten Chuck. He then went on to be the first man to ever knock him out cold (and ruined his chin). I think that title fight was deserved.

Had Rampage winning and still do but it was a bad performance on Rampage's part.

I did, I voted for Rampage.... maybe you would have noticed if you weren't so preoccupied with telling everyone who doesn't agree with your opinion to get out of the thread.

No just you, and the people being disrespectful.

To be fair, Rampage was also missing the target a lot in that fight. Many of his punches hit Forrest's arms.

he didnt beat anyone worth noting on the way to chuck, and im not really trying to say it was totally undeserved,im just trying to illustrate that if forrest had any luck or "help" en route to a title shot he wouldntve been the only one

Never understood how there could be any doubt in that fight. I was pulling hard for Rampage and gave him 1 round, Forrest clearly won.

Forrest had luck with the bad shape and poor mindset that his opponents came into those fights in, not with the matchmaking itself.

Rampage won 1,3,4,5. The only round Forrest got was 2, and it wasn't a 10-8 either. Joe Rogan has brainwashed way too many gullible people over the years in seeing more than is really happening.

Yep. Round 2 clouded too many people's minds but I had Forrest also winning Round 5 even though it was close.

Round 1
Round 2
Round 4

All have obvious winners (Rampage Rounds 1 and 4 - Forrest Round 2)

The fight comes down to Rounds 3 and 5

I had Rampage edging out Round 3 (by doing more damage) and Forrest edging out Round 5 by outworking Rampage.

In my book that gives Rampage the fight with Rounds 1, 3, 4

Forrest didn't do shit to take that belt.

Smart man. And like you said Forrest barely edged out round 5. I can understand tapped tappedtostrikes argument that Forrest only won round 2. I did actually see it that way after watching it a couple times at first. But I agree with Hans.

i dont even know what your talking about. He fought a few less than stellar guys after the shogun fight to get comfortable again, and for the most part he wasnt performing up to his usual standard (which is forgivable in light that he had taken two severe beatings from chute boxe...but he gave the impression he may have been a shot fighter, old quinton wouldve merked those guys imo) and he left pride when they wanted to understandably resign him for less money. he fights lindland in wfa,and then the ufc gets his contract. Pretty much from the point he was signed the UFC was like just beat this one guy we are bringing in to lose,so we can hype a fight with you and the champ. The UFC wanted this guy in the shit asap and in hindsight it was the right move, but he was fortunate for them to look at it that way, considering he hadnt been exactly on fire in the previous 2 years
