Never really liked him cause he was a caricature. A lot of his antics were just him playing up all the stereotypes to get whites/asians to accept him. You could really see how bad it was during his rivalry with Shad, i'm so glad Shad won that fight. So yeah, great fighter, terrible representative.

Page made me into a true MMA fan. I consider the golden age of mma when him and Anderson were on their tears. I bought every event and would not even look to see the card before buying. 2006-2010 I want to say. If rampage had peaked today, he would probably have made more money than Conor.

I wish he had the same mentality as some of the other greats once he got older. He could still be competitive if he took training seriously. Always a fan tho. Slampage was a beast, and definitely a great personality.

Actually, a lot of that outrageous stuff that he does on camera like what's seen here ) is just a persona that he puts on. Once the cameras are off he's a much better-behaved guy & much more of a gentleman with the ladies.
My fiance used to work for The OC Fight Doc, Bill Kessler, as his assistant & medical tech out of his office & at the Team Oyama Training Center MMA gym in Irvine, CA several years ago & she worked with Kessler on a lot of the best fighters in Southern California & many who visited as well. Including Carla Esparza, Ronda Rousey, Diego Sanchez, Michael Bisping, Shane De La Rosa, the Diaz bros, Tito Ortiz & others too numerous to mention. With Rampage being one of them.
And, 'Page was apparently a completely different guy than what she expected him to be like. He behaved himself & respected her as a medical professional. That is other than the time that he picked her up over his shoulder & ran around the perimeter of the gym up at his camp in Big Bear. But, that was after he'd just completed training for a fight & he was happy that he'd done so without any nagging injuries while under her & Kessler's care. She said she was shocked but just thought it was funny. After which he went right back to treating her with total respect.
Just a little insight into the real, behind the scenes Rampage that I thought I'd share.
