Rambo: Last Blood

Remember you have to think like a super white woke liberal when watching these movies. If the main character is a straight white male then 'misogynist!!!' If ANY of the villains are minorities and also shown in a poor light then 'RACIST!!!' And this definitely holds true for Rambo movies which have always been a shining beacon of diversity and extremely layered villains......lol

Will Teasle was actually quite layered. Especially in the book where he was a Korean War vet...but also in the movie where he's just doing his job, a bit heavyhanded, but not as evil as Galt or naive as Mitch. By the end, he and Rambo are just two equally stubborn guys but one is a demolition team while the other is just a cop / soldier.

And as for Rambo 2... There aren't numerous nuanced layers in one villain, but between Charles Napier and Steven Berkoff, you've got two villains operating completely independently against Rambo in their own ways, with one of them essentially hamstringing Rambo from inside his own team (and again, like Teasle, thinking he is doing the right thing). Napier / Murdock represents technology, the system, bureaucracy... While Berkoff is the cold war.

And even within Rambo 2 (remember James Cameron co-wrote it) you've got George Kee Cheung (main "Vietnamese" villain) who is himself just a cog taking orders from Berkoff, and then you've got Napier / Murdock's two subordinates... Martin Kove and the guy with the beard. Even between them, there's some nuance. The guy with the beard is just a straight up asshole, and Martin Kove is conflicted about following orders and leaving Rambo behind.

I'll grant that in Rambo 3 and 4, the antagonists are pretty much just all evil redshirts with one or two big boss characters. But even then, Rambo 3 has a Soviet deserter and an Afghan feeding information to the bad guys.

Somehow ive.never seen a Rambo movie. Should i watch the rest first?

I would.

The first movie really isn't what people think it is, if they grew up with Rambo as part of pop culture.

Which scene would that be?

The scene where a couple dozen criminals waltz into the US by going through a tunnel in an industrial area in Mexico that comes out in a warehouse in the US side, rendering the issue of physical barriers in the border completely moot.

I don’t recall them showing how those guys got into the States. I only remember Rambo cutting a barb-wire fence and driving his truck through.

That said, almost everyone who actually works in border enforcement on a daily basis has argued for a wall.

And if you don’t think walls work, do some research on Israel, South Korea, and Hungary.

If you want to oppose the wall for moral reasons, be my guest. I don’t agree, but at least there is an argument. Pretending that walls aren’t effective is factually incorrect. They do work, assuming the political will is there.

All the critics are saying it’s terrible and “trumpian”

Movie is not woke enough.

Means I’m gonna love it!!!
I don't get how it is trumpian he is going to Mexico to sneak his half mexican niece back into the U.S rambo is like a coyote.

I plan to see this and hearing SJW losers cry about it makes me more excited to watch.

Just got back from an advanced screening with my wife. Best action movie since the first John Wick. Highly recommend it. The finale is a heart-stopper. Literally.

Halfway through the film my wife (an immigrant herself) shouted, "That's why we need a wall!" <45>

Anyway, great film. Check it out, you nancy boys.

What the fuck does Rambo have to do with immigration..?

Doesn’t he fight Commies..?

They should have recast Stallone with Trump

She didn't literally shout it out at the top of her lungs, boss. She raised her voice to say it so I could hear her over the explosions. Hopefully someday you'll have a girlfriend you can take to the movies with you, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
You gotta keep that mouth under control

They should have recast Stallone with Trump
This is the perfect era for a morbidly obese Rambo.

Then Trump could appoint himself children's health inspiration like Schwarzenegger was for my generation, only this time the virtues of being a tubby fuck will be extolled to the kiddies.

The last Rambo was pretty neat

Remember when the gunboat shows up and the goon says:

Bluuh!
Best line of the movie!

Yep
Ive not seen this scene since i first saw this scene. CGI blood effects. Sucks.

Stallone doesnt look as old as i remember tho.

And fuck rita.

I had no desire to see this until I saw it getting terrible reviews and being called offensive, now I'm all in, probably gonna see it twice.
