Rahkmonov kinda sucked

We already knew he could strike and grapple and now we know he's also got a chin and cardio. His stock went nowhere but up after last night.

Looked a little loose defensively and got lit up a few times. Certainly some things that could be improved on. But he’s fighting a world class opponent and you can’t expect perfection every time, he battled through and showed he can survive adversity and still come out with the win.

I did notice Rahkmonov is prone to getting lured into brawling - kinda like Garbrandt. He is willing to put himself into danger.

Never heard of the guy before last night but I really enjoyed his style of offense

Shavkat was tested by a legit fighter who KO'd Luque and outgrinded Belal.

Why do people expect these dudes to look like Superman against world class competition? Elite fighters face elite fighters. Shavkat passed the test and will learn a lot of important lessons.

I thought he looked great. Doesn't mean there is nothing to work on, but he performed well.
This. Shavkat essentially beat Neal in his own game (striking), and then put him to sleep.

Oh and this was against a Geoff Neal who came in 4 pounds overweight.
If Neal had made weight, I think he would have gotten finished quicker since his chin would likely be weaker from the agreed upon weight cut.

Matching up shavkat to others in the division, i think usman may have the physical strength to wall n stall n LnP him. I think his pressure may be too much for Leon, his size and striking too much for colby. I think he beats the snot out of belal.

Geoff Neal isn't a slouch. Only people to beat him in ufc are Thompson and Luque, both clear top 10. Maybe some of us were expecting Shavkat to run him over but clearly he doesn't have an aggressive grappling approach and Geoff Neal is a great boxer. I was pretty drunk when I saw the fight but it got FotN despite Neal missing weight

And yeah Neal missed weight so that's also an obstacle
Neal KO'd Luque.

Neil Magny did beat Geoff Neal though. Maybe you meant Magny.

I will say I wasn't disappointed with Shavkat's stand up as much as I was with his grappling, Neal looked to be on the same level grappling with him so I can only imagine what Khamzat would do to Shavkat. I am way more confident Khamzat would beat him.
TBF Neal did come in heavier.
Shavkat actually went through with the legit cut to 170-171. Whereas Neal only cut to 175.

Those 4-5 pounds make a big difference if you think about it. It means that Shavkat had to cut to a lower weight (thus weakening his energy, strength, recovery, and chin) while Neal benefited from not having to cut as much weight (giving him more energy, better strength, and stronger chin, and easier recovery)

Yeah I think that was 100% intentional and not from an injury. Some guys will make weight in all their fights and go over when they get a tough opponent at a crucial time, it's one of the unspoken strategies. Neal looked as good physically as he ever has.

Shavkat looked fucking awesome man. Geoff Neal is a bad bad dude look at how he annihilated Vicente luque. Neal's boxing is really really good and Shavkat still fucked his ass up and destroyed him. To say he sucked is just being edgy to try and be annoying.
Plus Neal stopped cutting weight 4 lbs early. Idk how people are just overlooking this as if Shavkat would not have fucked him up with a throw early if Neal didn't come in fat and had to actually shed the pounds like Shavkat did.

I hope he keeps working on his defense, although that may affect the 100% finish rate he is famous for.

I can't disagree more with your take. If anything Shakvat impressed me even more

So he beats a top WW and finishes him taking some shots in the process.. what sucked about that?

You are a complete failure ts. Call your mom and ask her to forgive you for being suc a disappointment

I swear these "fans" don't know wtf they're talking about when it comes to a fight like this.
They say, "Oh he sucks", yet the guy went and got the finish even though he could've coasted.

Had he coasted this guy would say, "Oh look, he was scared to engage".
Shavkat fought a tough guy and won...not only that but he finishes him and still these guys talk shit.

Its enough to make you wanna tell them to go fuck themselves, but it wouldn't be worth the thumb workout to type sir lol.

People talking like Neal is some random bum. Show some respect to the guy. And Shavkat was easy 3-0 in rounds and still went for the kill. Hype my ass, That’s exactly how a top fighter should perform.

Exactly, now here's a man with a fuckin brain in his head.
Well said, you know a real one when you see him sir.
