Still the best pure returner I've ever seen and one of the cleanest ball strikers ever. I don't care what anyone says about Novak, Rafa etc. Agassi wasn't hanging 15 feet behind the baseline trying to turn defense into offense. The guy was all over the baseline looking to crank returns off of even the biggest serves.
People don't appreciate how ridiculous this really is.
I still remember the very exact day i got into tennis bro. I watched aggassi choke up a set and a break to boris Becker at the semis Wimbledon. After that I found my dad's old wooden racket in the garage and just started absolutely wailing, like I saw on TV. Couple days later I got a better cheap racket, but I was still playing with myself. I'd open the garage door and lean plywood up against it with a foot open on each side and then try to hit "winners" thru dem spaces....man, to be young again! I got pretty good too.
I think later that summer he lost to sampras in the US open final.
