I still can't quite believe that he has passed, it's heartbreaking and feels surreal.
I can only attest to what so so many sherdoggers have already said about him only 10 pages into this thread.
What he put into this forum - both in terms of quality and quantity - was unmatched and that is saying a lot considering the amount of great posters and people here.
As so many folks have mentioned, his shoops have been absolutely amazing and the role he has played in making sherdog such a fun place via these shoop threads, can never be overstated.
It still is beyond me, how he, as a single person, managed to do the amount of work that the shoop threads and their awards have brought with them and not only did he do the necessary stuff at times when his message inbox had to have been close to bursting, he somehow still managed to make every conversation - no matter how formal the topic or reason for the conversation was - feel personal in a good way, regardless of how busy he must've been; he made it so that one felt welcome at all times.
I specifically remember this response of his, when i sent him a shoop of mine for a contest:
I wish you were still here man, it breaks my heart to know that you're not around us anymore, but i hope you are in a better place now.
To Brenda, Patrick, Adam and the rest of Mike's family and all of his friends:
My sincere condolences for your loss. I never had the privilege of meeting Mike personally, so i have no way of being able to comprehend what he must have meant to you, nor what you are going through right now, so i wish for you to be granted the strength to deal with these times of loss.
It is tragic to say the least, that Mike has passed, especially at only 61 years of age, but i find comfort in knowing how beloved he was by all of you and i sincerely hope that you find some comfort in knowing how beloved he was by the sherdog community.
