He's been good at teaching striking to wrestling mechanics, which Fitch used to beat Alves and others and of course what Cain and DC do.
I think with Khabib his grappling-only dominance has led to some slacking in this, or he's not talented in that aspect. He's also not always there.
Rockhold and Swick are more striker first types, and neither did really evolve, so it looks like that's not his forte. Kos had a deadly right hand, but very little else on the feet. He could've slacked because of explosiveness and the easy KO's. Some gym disagreements as well.
Overall, AKA is not a huge gym. It used to be small. But they've always had top-tier talent. By that alone he's among the best, and Cook and others who help are too. IMO, he's the best. Just look at their wall considering how small they were.
