Social Qanon Megathread V1

Trump is never going to take a shit in a WH toilet after Jan 20. We have to set a specific deadline for the bet. If by that date Trump isn't President, I win. If Trump is still President by then, you win.

A friend of mine made the same bet with me. He bet, after the election was certified, that Trump would remain in power. He bet me a hundred dollars.

After the bet was made, I gave him 10 to 1 odds.

What I still don’t get is how it went from 4chan to Facebook boomers, there’s some overlap but you would think a site made up of a bunch of anonymous loser Gen Zs and millennials aren’t exactly associating with Karen’s on social media.

I think a concerted ongoing effort by younger slightly more tech savvy 4chan users to tap into the cluless Facebook masses using cringy boomer memes. There are countless conservative and CT fb groups out there with millions and millions of members, most with very little to no oversight and just about anyone can post whatever they want. Ripe for the picking.

I have a friend who is basically a brother who fell deep into this. It's been a never-ending cycle of craziness for almost 4 years and I don't really know what to do. I actually text him the reddit thread that was in here yesterday and he never gave me a response on it. We work together, too, so I went thru a whole day without him mentioning it. My other co-workers keep telling me that he's insisting that there were special ops agents that took Pelosi's laptop and all of this shit is going to happen in the next week and Trump is going to remain President. It's pure psychosis. He's so delusional and I don't know what is going to happen to all of these people once Trump is out of office and they realize they were apart of an actual cult started by a :eek::eek::eek:phile pig farmer and his son.

There's no shock that this friend also goes thru life fads. Religion, veganism, etc. It's all the same people that fall into this. They are lost and or upset at the state of the world and want to be able to place the blame on some grand conspiracy instead of realizing that the complexities of the world make it so.

I'm still sticking by him but man, it is fucking difficult. If his wife knew he was into this she would leave him. No doubt. Even worse, my actual little brother fell into this crap, too. Not to the point of taking part in a rally or protest but he still spreads this bunk info around to people.
You sound like a real friend, your buddy's lucky to have you on his side. And thanks for sharing this, and the part about life fad phasers was spot on.

Unfortunately, I think we'll see more instances like the one you're describing and it will be disheartening to say the least.

We will know for certain in the next few days, won't we?

I predict mass arrests and military tribunals.....and 4 more years of Trump =)

Pelosi so far has been unsuccessful in getting Trump removed so he has until the 20th but I think things will be going down much sooner.

Hang onto your shorts, this is going to be one wild ride!

And you thought 2020 was crazy?
Have your delusions impacted your personal life in anyway?

I admit I hadn’t done as much research on QANON as I should have and was only really aware that they pushed hyper right conspiracy theories. I took some time to look into them and some of their claims and I was blown away. My biggest question is, is Q a troll?
These claims are so bizarre and outlandish that I thought it must be some elaborate joke that suckered a lot of people. I mean, they never have proof, nothing ever materializes, but people just keep believing in what they are saying.
My second question is, how many folks are actually bought into this? Has to be a very vocal, but small group, right?
It’s fascinating and depressing. It’s all easily debunked but the followers refuse to listen to anyone who try’s to prove their fairy tale conspiracies wrong. That shit has bled into the general public to. Seems like there is plenty of sherdoggers in this very si forum that but into their bs

They seem like controlled opposition. Their beliefs range from the fucking insane to the downright reasonable, so they are useful because they allow very stupid people to dismiss conservative opinion by saying "most conservatives believe at least some of what Q says."

I don't think they'd have become as big as they did without America's poor journalistic integrity and the tireless marketing efforts of the American left.

These people are probably getting their info from OAN and Newsmax and thinking that Trump will remain in power in some sort of dramatic turn of events. I don't see how any rational person can think this unless they're investing all their belief in something they deem to be credible

There's an answer to your second question, not your first. Seems around 1/10 republicans and only a few percentage points of democrats. Polling had questions of chunks individually, and the headlines were "majority of republicans believe Q is at least partly true", because they answered yes to there being an administrative state outside election officials.

The actual interesting question is why people believe in CTs in the first place, and that's when "official" sources lie often enough that you're stuck with people stabbing in the dark at what is true, and there is an outsized response to an incorrect guess at what is true.

Seems irresponsible to blame the liberal media for Qanon moronic beliefs. However, one of the inherent traits of Qanon is finding a way to blame anyone but yourself.
