Getting to Keatkhamtorn and Jitti?

Does anyone know the best ways to get to these places?! lol. Are they served by the metro? I forgot that it only covers some parts of Bangkok... damn.

Otherwise any camps that are a good choice that are on the metro line? Thanks.

I know absolutely nothing about the gyms in Thailand but I know a ton about Bangkok and the country. Lived there for 8 years.

PM me if you have a question about lodging, food, etc.

i have a nice apartment in lad prao for 5000 bht a month, very nice.
can get a cheaper one easy but this one is nice.
my last apartment was 2000 bht a month.

One thing to be careful about in Thailand when picking a gym to train at is not getting ripped off. A lot of places will charge you extra higher prices just because you are a tourist and not really train you well.

I would stay away from places where you can get sucked into partying and drama like Pattaya and beachy tourist places if you are more serious about training. There is a good place i went to a few times in Chiang Mai, and a handful in Bangkok

just for ne1 who's abou bangkok... im at Jitti now, arrived today. good times :icon_chee

Hello, I cant read through 149 pages since most of it seems for the more advanced MT guy. Ive never done Muay Thai, I've done TKD, kyokushin and i work out with my buddies and hit a heavy bag in my garage when we get the chance to. So I am a begginer to MT. I am not 100% sure where will be heading but most likely Bangkok, I might go to pattaya or a small chance to phuket. Now I will be staying there for a week ( I live in a neighbouring country and I get free plane tix ). My question is I want a gym that is cheap and preferably have accommodations ( rooms ) for all skill levels of people, I dont care if it is too touristy, I just want some real MT training but not to advanced that I look like a fool and and be soar the whole time haha since I will probably be back after a while. Any advice is appriciated. Also I dont have any gear.

im convinced that unless it is a super specific question to an area/advice that kind of thing the questions should stop rolling in. read the fu***** thread and all your questions will be answered

This is why i think sherdog should have a readily useable "search within thread" function.

got a couple of years experience but smashed my foot up so had a longggg break while ihad it reconstructed lol :/

food is nice, if not quite enough. think im guna go hungry here and lose los of weight. training seems pretty good so far, about to do afternoon session now which is supposedly much more 'serious'. tho was good this morning got a lot of attention as only 4/5 people training there.

not fighting when im here as not long enough. i think eveyr other person bar one or 2 that i met when i turned up in the afternoon yesterday is fighting... and it was the 2nd question jitti asked me. lol.

Nice, remember Thai food portions versus western, especially American, is quite small. Meatloaf & mash potatoe portions on a single plate served in in the U.S. can probably feed four people in Thailand.:icon_chee

I'm making plans now for August 2010, so far after reading this thread and muaythailand.com I've had about every question I can think of answered. If you can't be bothered to read 50 pages to research going to another country I think you've got problems.

I do have one question though. I live in Texas, who do I need to contact about getting a Visa? I am planning on being there 6 months.

That's not restricted to Thailand. An American concept of a single serving is equivalent to 2-3 serving anywhere else in the world, including Europe. Part of the reason everyone is so fucking fat in the states.

next year im planning on staying in thailand to train seriously for about a year give or take on how much i have saved up by then. im planning on going to keatkhamtorn but im not completely sure. does anybody know of any accommodations close by? and since im staying for so long would i be better off getting an apartment or something? i dont want to spend to much i just want a personal space away from the gym i can call "home" while im there, dont want anything special. or can hotels give discounts or something for someone who is staying for such a long period of time? thanks

G'day Millasur. How long are you staying at Jitti Gym? I'll be arriving in Bkk on saturday night and starting training at the gym on the 7th.

just talk to one of the people that run the gym when you get there and they will help you find a spot near by or give you a list of options you can do
