G'day Millasur. How long are you staying at Jitti Gym? I'll be arriving in Bkk on saturday night and starting training at the gym on the 7th.

hey bro,

Unfortuantely I will have jsut left! i think im off literally about 3/4 days before! You will like it though, don't worry. Jitti seems a great place to train.

Nice, remember Thai food portions versus western, especially American, is quite small. Meatloaf & mash potatoe portions on a single plate served in in the U.S. can probably feed four people in Thailand.:icon_chee

you just gotta find the right places. I eat at one place where the portion sizes are really big and the food is awesome, for the same price as everywhere else. Although its still probably smaller than a western portion.

have you seen how much thai girls eat.
thats all they do.

Has anyone ever been to Keatkhamtorn Gym? Do they teach alot of clinching?

im an american and eat more than most of my friends and family... thai girls put me to shame

Thai girls lose their shit when you finish their food for them......girls in north america love it, here they are liked shocked you are even doing it, they still probably love it though.

Ok thank you, i think i am going to go for a month at kawsemirt and then a month to Keatkhamtorn Gym!

And has anyone here ever fought in Bangkok? How much experience do you have? by time i get to Thailand i will have had about 1 year of muaythai under my belt, i guess the trainers woulden't let you fight unless they were sure you were ready?

i have talked to guys after i seen them fight, with only 1 month training... so with 1 year expreriance you should be fine

Both keathmtorn and kaesamrit have excellent big ups from the people who have trained there and who also visit '/ have visited Jitti.

3 months baby.

Anyone know if they have a squat rack at sinbi? I asked them at the end of one e mail they never got back to me.

No squat rack, but there is a big mountain right next to the camp if you want to work your legs by running up it...

If they don't have a squat rack you can do what is called hack squat (google it). Though it looks like a deadlift, the load is distributed very differently, and it is, in fact, a squat.

Perfect if you only have a bar.

I do squats at Sinbi's by lifting the bar off the bench press. I also do this here at my gym. Takes some getting used to (esp. when you lower the bar to rack it back) and you can't go crazy on the weight, but it's the real thing.

PS: there is a great gym (Naiharn Gym) just down the road from Sinbi's with great gear (squat rack etc,...), aircon, very new and clean, which costs about 3

Thanks. I'll have to check out that gym near sinbi. I just want to do a 2 day split to try maintain my strength and muscle while loosing some weight.

It really looks like many of these camps spend their weight lifting money on the things that tourists want, not what they need.

If only they'd invest in an olympic bar, a power rack and some weight... No need for smith machines and dedicated BP benches then...
