i keep trying to get my visa but i dont have a return flight... i bought a one way ticket because i plan on crossing into laos and hitting up the phillipines, then coming back home. does anyone know how to put it when i send my information to the thai consulate? everything i read says i need proof of purchase of a return flight from thailand.

Are you going to be flying from Laos to the Philippines? If so, purchase that ticket so you can mail or show it to the Consulate. How far are you from the Consulate? It is usually easier to get a visa in person than mailing your info. You can have all your questions answered face to face.

If you are in the Northwest like your location says, check this site, Royal Thai Consulate General, Portland, Oregon
It would not hurt to call them if you can't make it in person.

Has anyone here fought in thailand? They don't do blood testing there....doesn't anyone worry about getting the hiv, or something else?

I fought in Thailand a while back and there was not blood testing but I fought at a local fairground during Songkran in Isaan. No testing there. If you are worried about that, don't fight in Thailand. Stay in your country and dream about it. :D

the thai fighters should be more worried about that than the foreigners because they're the ones who are going to make you bleed. haha

i live in seattle, didnt even know there was a consulate in portland thanks dude!
im acually just living off my money untill i come close to running out and im not exacly sure when that will be. (a good friend is spotting me on a return ticket so i can really use my money up til the end) thats why i dont have a return flight booked.

i was originally going to just get a 3 month visa and do a border run for an extra month but im not sure anymore. the website i went to for info said you can get a 3 month tourist or a 6 month student visa.

Just buy yourself a fully refundable 1 way ticket from Bangkok to anywhere, use that for your visa purposes, and get a refund.

A better idea is to get a cheap one way ticket to anywhere on Air Asia. BKK to Macau is just 1699 baht.

I am planing to train in Thailand in the next few months but i havent decided what camp im going to go to. I have narrowed it down to either Rawai which is relatively inexpensive or i could spend the extra money and go to por pramuk. What do you guys think? I also considered Tiger but i dont really want to be around MMA id rather be around pure Muay thai

Please don't go to Rawai.

Who did you go with, Charley? His girlfriend has the best massage shop at the top of the road. I got very drunk with him my last night there. The 4 hour bus ride the next day nearly killed me...

My very good friend, Bashir SomChai, is there. He leaves for the US next week. He spent nearly 17 months there...lol He is in for some depressing times when he gets back here...

Here are some videos from there.

I haven't been able to find a place to rival the khao soi (not white rice, the curry noodle dish) at this one little shop near the bus station in Pai yet.

i have never had a blood test in thailand.
my last fight was very bloody,we were both covered from head to waist in blood.
my blood.
i remember pausing to think damn so much blood my opponant has slicked his hair back with it.
had to throw my shorts away.
if i had hiv my opponent would have been stuffed.
i did not know until after the fight that you could actually see the cartiladge in my nose, trainer never said anything.

every ticket ive ever bought has been non refundable

That's because you are buying "discount" tickets, which every airline offers. You'll need to buy a full fare ticket for it to be refundable. If you call the American Airlines ticketing office, just ask them for a 1 way fully refundable ticket from Bangkok to Hong Kong.

Or go online and buy an Air Asia ticket from Bangkok to anywhere, and eat the $50 that it costs you.
