Q&A on Thailand

God who gives a crap about supplements.

The food in Thailand is probably 3x better than the nutritionally degraded, overfarmed and tainted crap we get here in the states. Everything is fresh and organic over there.

Leave your supps at home where they belong guys, they will never and were never meant to replace the food that you get from nature.

Crap-free food > Supplements

That being said, i still take protein, vitamins and stuff here in the states, it's hard to get organic/ grassfed all the time, and our supermarket fruits and veggies have only a quarter the vitamins they are meant to have.

EDIT: I'm willing to bet that you'll recover much faster eating the healthy local food over there than downing some shakes.

I hate to say this but the food in Thailand is one of the main causes of westerners getting sick and food poisoned over there.

Found this out the hard way during the first few times I was deployed to Thailand in 2002 and 2003.

Hi, does anyone have any experience training at the fairtex camp in pattaya?

I`ve read through the thread and can`t find any posts on it.

Also if you trained there is it worth staying at the camp or are there cheaper hotels of the same or better standard nearby?

On the website it says it`s 1000bht to stay in a standard room in the sports wing which looks pretty good and seems like a very reasonable price.

Does anyone know the price to train there? Looking to go for 2 weeks so do you pay by class or just a lump sum at the start for the 2 weeks training?

I have trained at Fairtex Pattaya a few times. I did the morning sessions for 800 baht each. It was not worth it IMO. The facility was top notch though.

Next trip I went to Scorpion gym and trained there. Only 200 baht per session and it was pretty much the same type of training/trainers.

i'm gonna waste like 500 dollar in MT gear like gloves, shorts, shin guards, shirts, stuff can't get in the U.S.,and take tons of pictures.

Everytime I go to Thailand my friends beg me to bring back some muay thai shorts. Its cool though since they pay me back for what I paid for them.

So I guess your visits trumps me being Thai? My bloodline is from Surin and Bangkok. And about my statement earlier, I was explaining to guy about the prostitution game in Thailand. For the types of girls: Whites mainly go for the dark skinned girls and Thais mainly go for the light skinned girls.

But then again what do I know? I'm only a Thai person living in Thailand.

Whites mainly go for dark skinned? Not sure if you are right or not but I never paid attention to color. Just beauty.

Maybe on my next trip I will try to do a count in my head on how many white guys I with dark vs light skinned chicks.

how physical is the clinch work? is it more slow and controlled or is it fast and aggressive? just trying to get an idea of how my shoulder will hold up.

how is the sparring? sounds like the biggest threat is getting partnered up with meathead westerners with egos.

If you have trained MMA/grecco clinches recently than you should be OK. Your shoulder though... I would not advise doing heavy training or sparing with a bad shoulder.

You've got that right. Thais are the most racist people I've ever met.

LOL! I wouldn't go that far. But they do however do not like east indians, arabs, and people that are straight from Africa.

once i was sitting with several thai trainers and champions, we had several farang students with us drinking hard.
i politely asked one to put his foot down as it was pointing directly at one of the trainers,he laughed and said they dont mind they know me,rose from his chair and pulled the trainers head down and farted in his face.
i could not believe what i was seeing, shortly after he took the mother of all beatings from the trainer.

:icon_lol:

Wow what an ass. He deserved that beating.

How did it end? did the foreigner get any permanent injury? Did the several farang students gang up against the several thai trainers? Did they continue to train at the camp after?

These you are the best to answer payak :) I am sure many here are curious too.

no one helped,he deserved it, he took a beating and left.
it was a good beating but nothing serious,as in permanent injuries.
no farang students will help because they will lose money, they have to train there.
the trainers would have the support of the thai champs that were drinking there.
and finally,no one really cared.
the farang just sat there, they agreed with what happened, bad luck if they didn't.
the trainer was fired but found work a few days later at another camp.
trainers a good guy.
ive also seen an american student fight with a thai trainer over an ugly fat thai woman.
it happens, but its very rare,no trainer wants to lose his job.
most are very friendly anyway.

Nice answer Payak.

Now how about one more. Someone has mentioned that Sii Dairng is usually more favoured than Sii Nahm Ngern. Based on what I see on Chong 7, this domes not seem true.

For an instance, just this week, a 50 win,20 loss red was pitted against a 70win,10 loss rblue.

Also, in the last match, in total the red fell like 7 or 8 times while the blue 0 or 1.

So I do not know if this coloured thing is true.

Do some preparation and you'll be okay. I've been to Thailand to train five times now and I've only gotten sick once. Take probiotics.

That sounds fair. It must have been painful to sit there and watch him be such an idiot.

Just curious, was it a hippie who did it? :D

so if they change colors will that effect the outcome of the fight

No, I meant the red is supposed to be the favoured one, according to someone. Is this true or no?

Red is definitely favored at a place like Bangla down here in Phuket.

not a hippy, pretty good guy until he started drinking.
still a good guy when he was drunk, just made a stupid unforgivable mistake.
i would do the same if he farted in my face, you dont want anyone doing that after eating som tum.
i'm heading to ubon in august, anyone going that way.
not 100% sure though i may have to go to rayong.

Hmm..Payak, did the social intereaction change much after that? As in, the Farangs joked less or the trainers taught less techniques, coz they do not want the farang friends to retaliate?

Regardless of the fart. If a guy forcefully pushed my face to his ass, I will not give 'face'. Babes are welcomed to though.

... Like there is an acceptable time for some guy to fart in your face!

I wouldn't give a damn if he was eating Vanilla Angel food Cake ... he's gettin a beatdown or I am!!!
