Too many wrestlers who wrestle the same.

NXT at its peak was actually very diverse in both wrestling and character.

Gargano, Ciampa, Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Adrian Neville (terrible name), Samoa Joe, Andrade "Cien" Almas, Sami Zayn, Bobby Roode, Kevin Owens, Lars Sullivan, Demian Priest, Authors of Pain (w Ellering), Undisputed Era, American Alpha, The Revival, Blake & Murphy, Street Profits, Asuka, Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Shayna Baezler...

...and they all took it seriously, and everyone was at their best, the characters were decent and organic, the vignettes were excellent and got the responses that they needed.

I still like NXT, but most of the roster is a bunch of various smaller guys doing overly choreographed and sloppy looking stuff. Also, their characters are boring.

NXTs biggest mistake was not capitalising on Ciampa being red-hot as a badguy when he returned, instead of playing the inspirational angle with his injuries. Dude was lightning as a bad guy and should have been in Adam Coles spots.

I think the problem there was the NXT fans not wanting to boo Ciampa. At least with UE you could get away with them being cool heels that the fans like, but Ciampa was supposed to be this evil bastard. The fans cheered him and booed Gargano.

Because Ciampa was really, really entertaining.

I don't really know what he is doing now, some grizzled team with Thatcher? It's a huge waste of his talent...

I guess they thought they were listening to the fans by booking that shitty angle with Aleistar Black, Nikki Cross, and Gargano.

That's a huge problem with booking anywhere now but especially on WWE's two main shows: They want to react to the person (or person they perceive) rather than the character. And, on top of that, there is a vocal part of the base that seems to jump onto whoever isn't being used or isn't going over as "wasted" or "underrated." Liv Morgan is pretty, seems like a nice kid, and probably put a lot of work in. She's not "sooo much better than Charlotte" nor does she "deserve a run with the belt." But any and all reactions get muddled by this.

There's also a ridiculous inability for the office to 1) let things play out, 2) strike while the iron is hot, and 3) hold the course. All three of those seem counterintuitive but examples of each: SCSA was getting cheers for a long time before he became the badass babyface on paper and they're not letting that sort of thing happen anymore, Bray Wyatt had two killer gimmicks squashed when they were the top thing going, and whoever gave Braun Strowman a cello and pointed him at heel Elias for a comedy pop when he was the top monster heel should have been fired.

What a horrible time of year. There ain’t shit on to watch tonight. It’s looking like it might be a Suicide Squad night
