Trips was about as over as anyone ever when he came back before the Rumble. They really did a shit job building to that match, though. It had to do a lot of damage to Jericho for a while as the build was HHH vs. Steph, not HHH vs. Jericho. For fuck's sake, Jericho - the first undisputed champion of all time, the man who beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night! - was cleaning up dog shit on Raw!

Still, though, Hogan/Rocky turned out amazing, of course, but I don't remember being excited about it in the build. I think we're all looking at it in hindsight. I wasn't expecting too much out of Rocky (who has never been known for great matches) and Hogan, who was pushing 50 already. That match was memorable because of the way the crowd turned on Rocky and cheered for Hogan, and that wasn't something really planned.

The winner of the massive melee, now in its 30th year, will go on to challenge for a World Championship in the main event of WrestleMania this April."

I'm no lawyer but "a World Championship" makes it sound like the winner gets to choose.

On the other hand, if interpreted literally, the RAW title would be disqualified since it is not a "World Championship," but rather a "Universal" one.
