Using the reasoning taught to me in law school the use of the word "a" rather than "the" before World Championship implies that there is more than one of them.
Isn't that just a basic English concept and not necessarily a legal term?

Seriously, though, @Batfish, reading and understanding plain English is a big part of being a lawyer. It's how you make sure contracts say what you actually want them to say. Things like the use of "a" instead of "the" or the placement of a comma are often a point of argument. Definitions of seemingly every day words are too. If wrestling were real life, and you wanted the winner to get a shot at the WWE Championship, the contract should say that specifically. If this was real and it just said "the winner gets a shot at a world championship" that's way too vague. One could argue the tag titles are "a world championship" for example.
