@Based God Was it an RGR show that you were at?

They were posting a buncha vids from their bar show in Arizona last night

nah, the promotion I went to is called Lucha Libre Voz. It was held at a pool hall that has an open room in the back where they set up the ring.

That building RGR was at is way nicer. Some concerts and semi-big regional MMA and kickboxing companies run that room RGR was at.

I've never heard of RGR, I might have to check it out sometime. Looking at their Facebook page apparently Blue Demon Jr, Dr. Wagner Jr, Laredo Kid, Arez, and most importantly BIG MAMI worked that show last night. That's a great lineup.

I saw them open for Guns n Roses like a year and a half ago. They put on a hell of a show still. The current singer is solid and Jerry Cantrell also doubles up on some of the vocals so they still have that classic Alice in Chains sound.
I've always felt so bad for Jerry. He is a world class musician, he had both the good and unfortunate luck to get into a band with an even better one. So he is a downgrade without him despite his skill

It's weird that the current singer of Alice in Chains has been their singer longer than Layne was

one of my favorite AiC songs is the "new" guy and that song is already 16 years old lol

Unfortunately it's the same day as the Oasis reunion which I've already got tickets for. Sucks that I couldn't go to both
That seems like a massive oversight on the Ozman's part. That's a big deal to compete against and would have more crossover than you think

@Based God RGR is a legit promotion that puts on great shows, they basically function as AAA's promotion in California and the South West, although I'm sure that will end soon

But they also function on Lucha Libre time even worse than AAA does, I remember the show we went to had like 4 o'clock on the poster and they didn't even start letting people in til like 6 pm

Luckily it was at Richmond, Ca City Hall complex so there was a real nice park with plenty of tables and shade trees to relax in in the middle of the buildings

Since it was a Lucha show there were several pop up taqueros all along the street serving food and beer illegally LoL plus several Lucha merch vendors and people playing loud ass banda music so me, Junior, The Versace King and Lean Mean Jake just hung out at a table in the park drinking Modelos and enjoying the beautiful weather and all the sights from the assorted street fair that was happening all around us lol

The main event was Jacob Fatu vs Alberto Del Rio but the show was in a Sunday and it didn't actually start til 730 or 8 so we had to leave before the main event cause Juniors dad to work in a few hours

Still bummed I missed that main event

@RollSonnenRoll speaking of great singers. I stumbled on this interview of my GOAT Dio doing an interview from 1985. He talks a little about the occult and his disapproval of black magic. Which if you listen to his lyrics you could tell he was always into white magic and trying to promote goodness. But anywho, he gets asked about Ozzy Osbourne and shoots on him which I thought was pretty funny. Timestamped but the whole interview is good.

"Was if hard to step into Ozzy's shoes?

"Well it's not very hard to step into someone's shoes who has been barefoot his whole life" "How can anyone compare Ozzy Osbourne to Ronnie Dio especially as a singer"

Lmao, I mean he aint wrong. Ozzy's a good singer but Dio is god tier. There is levels to this shit.

@moonwolf would have liked this interview
