dude, here's the thing. being a general practice vet really isnt too hard (and yes the scam the shit out of people because they know people will pay because they love their pets). like i worked as an assistant for years and could basically do what they were doing (vaccines, blood draws, x rays, nail trims, ear cleanings, simple diagnosis,etc.) its just getting into vet school. they make it damn near impossible. they want you to have a 4.0 gpa, years of paid experience, be the president of every school club. shit is ridiculous

Is there a valid reason for it being that difficult?
Im not laughing at your plight but it was funny in a crazy way that you are gonna give up on being a vet and go get an MBA instead, like how is that easier than getting in vet school

the biggest reason is there just aren't a lot of vet schools out there. there are only 30 in the entire country. so each gets 1000's and 1000's of applicants but only take less than a 100 a year. odds just arent in your favor especially if you arent a 4.0 student

Seems like a missed opportunity there, could be a lotta money to be made by building a few more vet schools
I know that Wall St has started investing in pet health because they know how easy it is to rip people off in that market, I wonder why no one hasnt started franchising vet schools
