It isn't just that he's a dictator, but that he is killing his country. Corruption is rampant, he has driven out most of the middle class, the Russian economy is in a terrible state.

People in this thread don't seem to realize that the Soviet Union collapsed 30 years ago and that we are not living in 2005 anymore. The economy isn't good anymore. Yeah, Russia is stable... for now. And then when Putin dies it is going to become chaos again, just like the 90s.

Russia is a country with awful demographics (at least for the ethnic Russians) and Putin will go down in history as the man that lead his people off of a cliff.

And then in 30 years, everyone will look back and say how obvious it was, and how terrible Putin was. But it seems like nobody is actually noticing this in real time. At least his propaganda is excellent.

Hes actually not popular amoung young people,its the old soviet era people that dig him.

Like I said, you have nothing. Thats a whole lotta mental gymnastics and empty waffle citing 17th century examples and yet still conceding on like half of the points.
Also, I specifically asked for conservatives (not republicans) since I'm well aware of the games right wingers try to play where they cite examples of republicans prior the civil rights movement and "The Southern Strategy"... back before Republicans became the Conservative party.

I'm not asking for "a good deed by a conservative", I'm sure you helped you nan cross the road at some point. I'm asking for a conservative policy ie one held by conservatives and not supported by liberals/left wingers (once again, not republicans/democrats since those definitions changed in 1950s-1960s).

I'll give you an example of a bad conservative policy (and there are a plethora to choose from):
Abortion ban, supported by conservatives, not supported by liberals.

I'll take the soft idiocratic authoritarianism of Trudeau over the conservative murderous one of Putin. And that's a tough pill to swallow as Trudeau is an absolute useless leader and human being.
