Well, considering that some police have reported that many of the arrests have been illegals and some horrific crimes have been committed by people in the country illegally, I would say that the illegal immigrants have had an effect on crime and perceptions of crime in the city. More than enough reason to deport the ones that are committing those crimes.

As for a path to citizenship, I would set a date by which you have to report to an agency, provide your information and where you came from, current address, proof of employment and they are issued a temporary id card. Then have them pay to take a citizenship course, taxes, fine-something, and start the process. If you don’t report by a certain date and are caught-it’s too late.

And the other five model countries the book focuses on are England, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and china. The first three countries have experienced rising crime that is directly attributed to an influx of illegal migrants. Sure, any time you increase the population of an area, the number of crimes committed will go up, but culture is also a factor when you have people coming from third world countries to western country. I also would posit that people willing to break a country’s laws to get into the country are probably more likely to break other laws when compared to those that legally emigrated there.

Actually, the police officers reported that 75% of the arrests in midtown manhattan were illegals** Islam and I already discussed that because it is not an official police statement-it was from officers that agreed to speak off the record to the nypost, it likely doesn’t mean that much. The officers, since it is a sanctuary city, are not allowed to ask status, but the point was that officers have noted that many arrests are mostly Latino and surprise, nyc has a severe illegal immigrant issue. Nypost also reports a lot on migrants being arrested multiple times for various crimes. The area has seen an increase in thefts, assaults, and some other crimes. And we saw the one illegal burn the woman alive in the subway.

I am not trying to say that all illegal immigrants are bad, but a lot of bad people come over with the good ones and we need to weed those people out before we figure out what to do with the rest. Maybe it’s time nypd starts determining status of their arrests and look to get rid of some of their problem people that are here illegally.

As for the proof of employment, how about proof of some income so we are not allowing sponges to stay here and live off of our welfare system. I don’t know how true it is, but I have heard that illegals are given free housing when available, free food, and ebt type cards.

The only good thing about trump is he will at least try to secure the border, or claims he will. biden practically welcomed them in and now nyc and chicago are flooded in illegals that they can’t handle. Hell, they closed down a school last year to house the homeless illegals because of the cold iirc. It’s irresponsible to grab your kids and move to a country with zero support or ways to support yourselves and depend on the mercy of that country.

I saw & would say @Islam Imamate debunked that "trust me bro" crack reporting on those officer's parts. Kind of what I was getting at when I said it's not what objective neutral people would consider real data or a source.

I have no problem with administration fees & proof of XX for a path to citizenship, as long as they are figured out through to completion, reasonable, & achievable. These people are living hand to mouth and are surviving off of lower than our poverty line. Excessive or additional cost could push people into illegal or illicit activities just to satisfy the costly requirements. Or it's just super shitty to say Family A's illegal employer ripped them off less than Family B's dirtbag employer.
