Prosecuting rubbernecks.

If you film me while I am bleeding out, you are definitely hurting me. Call it an insult or an invasion of privacy - I cannot stop you and should have legal means to do so.
Why should you be able to stop someones collection of information because your feelings got hurt?

Just popped up on my feed, could apply here

#2 - Make it illegal for civilians to possess a phone that does not have the capability of being remotely disabled by Emergency Personnel.
That is a horrible idea if you enjoy your privacy.
Can I get innumerable misuses of the word "fascism" for 500 Alex?[/quote

This is just the same direction that "Smart Gun" legislation will be headed towards shortly.

Except its not an invasion of privacy

You have no reasonable expectation of privacy in public, that doesn't magically change if you are giving birth or bleeding

So you believe it should be legal for you to make money off of a video that shows a stranger giving birth in a public place?

Also I very much disagree. If I visit a football match that may be televised I know I can expect to be filmed. Just leaving the house should not leave me in the same positions just because fuckers walk around with cameras in their pockets.

#1 - Issue phone jammers to select government employees.

#2 - Make it illegal for civilians to possess a phone that does not have the capability of being remotely disabled by Emergency Personnel.

Great idea. Government employees would never abuse these powers.

What's your definition of "hurt?" I imagine it must be a pretty broad one.

Call it an insult or an invasion of privacy - I cannot stop you and should have legal means to do so.

Unless the person filming you is doing so inside your house or in your yard how is that an invasion of privacy?

You're arguing to outlaw profiting from tastelessness, because you think that privacy is something you still have in public.
I know the term is overused, but that's a slippery slope.

My beliefs don't change the law regarding the fact that it is not an invasion of privacy

I mean I get the first amendment idea and all but in the age of YouTube things get quite complicated. If I upload the victim 's misery somewhere and get 300k views and profit monetarily from it, it get s even more complicated.
What in hell hell are you talking about? Youtube? Are you fucking nuts?

I don't think there should be any laws against it, unless the person is actually physically impeding the first responders from doing their job. It's just complete scumbag behaviour and should be treated as such. About a year and a half ago I was on the subway and this girl had a seizure or something, not sure if it was an OD or a condition she has or what, it was a girl in her early 20s. Anyway the emergency alarm was sounded so the paramedics were on their way, but a bunch of these millennial fucks were crowding around her twitching carcass filming with their phones. I lost it on them "what the fuck is wrong with you pieces of shit? Have some respect and give this girl some space!" I mean the main concern was that they were crowding around her and the area needed to be clear and open for the first responders, but also the fact that they were filming this poor girl in that condition made my blood boil. Thank goodness I wasn't in my uniform or I would have gotten in serious shit, maybe even got fired for swearing and yelling at these idiots, even though they're the ones being pieces of crap.

people should refuse to watch it on morals-alone. anyone can go online and find gruesome photos of car accidents and similar incidents. but i don't know of many people that actually do that.
