What’s stopping him? You’re asking what is stopping the ability to hire FIFTY THOUSAND PEOPLE?
This is my field. The ability to hire that amount of people takes A. Thousands of people to do. B. Isn’t feasible to think you just can get ideological matches at that scale based on location C. You can’t just ask questions like “hey, are you willing to do whatever Trump says?”. D. You can’t just fire every employee at once and think you can replace them immediately.
It’s a pearl clutch due to it being a logistical impossibility.
My god use your brain.
HR is also my gf’s field.
So, a few points. My letters will correspond to yours above.
A. You understand that they have that, right? Like, this isn’t some little Heritage Foundation project, this is a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations, with ties to political groups of various sorts, all throughout the country. It’s absolutely massive. Aside from that, let’s consider that the initial Executive Order was signed by Trump in Oct 2020, and Project 2025 has been in existence since April 2022. So, this is not something they are looking to start
after the election. They have been working on these for potentially
years already, several years. They’ve got a database you can submit your resume to if you’re interested

Man would I love to know how many names are in it.
B. & C. I’ll take these two together. So, you don’t need to ask that question, and you don’t need every single person to be ready to do every single thing Trump says on every issue, obviously. You just need them to support and be ready to implement key things and achieve key objectives within the employee’s zone of influence, however big or small. For those reasons, I think it is feasible to get the ideological matches you need at the scale they need it. Admin personnel in the Dept of Energy just have to be on board for what’s done in their sphere of influence, or the maybe the mission of the Dept of Energy more broadly. They don’t have to be on board about or do anything with what’s happening in the Dept of Education, Dept of HHS, or whatever.
D. This is important: At
no point did I allege they’d fire 50K people on Day 1 and replace 50K people on Day 1. I never said any such thing. I acknowledge that the full scope of whatever they do there will take some time. In fact, the 50K number is
an estimation of how many positions would become fireable under Trump’s EO. They do not need 50K new hires to implement Project 2025, and I’ve never claimed they did. But just speaking in terms of numbers, what if, instead of the usual 4000 fireable positions, they fire and replace 10,000? Or 15K, or 20K? Any of these numbers would still constitute a massive, massive power grab, and I don’t know why we’d assume that these people are putting together such a massive organizational framework and signing an executive order to make this possible if they weren’t at least going to attempt it.
The bottom line here is: when somebody or some group plans a massive, unconstitutional takeover of government, the correct response is to mobilize and stop the crazy motherfuckers. I don’t think that saying, “Meh, who cares? That’s a pretty big scope,I doubt they can do it” is a very appropriate response or viable strategy.
