They're better off downplaying it than comparing him to Trump, because there's no comparison there. Trump sounds like a shit talking liar who is still somewhat sharp, Biden looks like he belongs in an elderly care facility.

This whole thing is due to them being stupid enough to think that Biden would talk circles around Trump, because they are that delusional in their zealotry. They knew deep down that Biden's brain is FUBAR. Still put him up there.

Beyond the Presidency, that should scare people at how inept and arrogant the Dems are.

As someone with a political science degree I assure you this is a current norm. A stupid norm but a norm. The whole "WhAt CanDIdate WOuld You RAther HavE a BeeR wITh" school of thought did not start with MAGA.

Do you really think policy discussion is the most significant aspect of a presidential debate? I would say no. I think the most significant factor in a presidential debate is the same now as it was in the very first televised presidential debate, optics.

Meaningful policy discussion is way too complex to be done in the time and format of these debates. If it was about policy discussion they would need to do an extensive series of single topic debates.

The possibly fatal mistake the Biden campaign made with that debate was self inflicted by their own rules. Creating the distinct speaking times by shutting off Trumps mic during Biden's time prevented Trump from looking like the asshole he did in the previous debates, constantly interrupting, not allowing Biden to speak that gave a clear impression that he is obnoxious, incapable of listening to any opposing view, and impossible to reason with. Trump not being able to constantly interrupt and not let Biden finish a sentence this time made it clear that Biden can't actually finish a sentence.

Look at how the debates changed since MAGA. Night and Day difference between Mitt's debates and Trump's. You are delusional if you think otherwise.

He was already impeached twice and busted for threatening people to reverse the election results. It should scare people how dangerously stupid and morally bankrupt that republicans are. They even got maple syrup drinking dotards like you riding for them on the bleachers.

Why don't you offer how you think that Romney vs Obama debate supports your point because I would say it perfectly illustrates my point that presidential debates have very little to do with policy and Obama himself agrees.

This is annoying; what are you getting at? Why say Mitt vs. Obama instead of Mitt vs. Barack or Romney vs. Obama. What's your intent? Similarly, Trump vs. Hilary or Biden, instead of Donald vs Hilary or Joe or Trump vs. Clinton or Biden?

In theory. Look at the Nixon-Kennedy debate. Debates are almost the equivalent of pageant shows.

I know they have a short term impact on polls, but I'd like to know if they have a lasting impact. I wonder if there are studies on the subject.
 
I just saw that on page 817 of project 2025 owner’s manual, that if trump is elected, he is going to make it illegal to mix any combination of ketchup, mustard, and/or relish on a hotdog.

Only one condiment per hotdog. Or you go to Gitmo, bye bye.

Both sides are messed up. We have shadow people running our country at the moment and the vice president is one of the worst DEI hires in the history of DEI hires. There weren't many less qualified and less deserving politicians for the job than her. Hiring based on immutable characteristics is morally bankrupt as well.

Weird thing is that I know a lot of conservatives and not many of them want to vote for Trump, but they will in order to ensure the Democrats don't stay in office. If we had a better pool of candidates on both sides, we wouldn't be in this mess.
