Trump has been lukewarm on numerous issues that were absolutely part of the Republican platform, including vaccines, abortion, corporate power, and numerous others. Sometimes he takes credit, sometimes he downplays his own involvement. As someone who works for the federal government under the executive branch, I shudder at this rhetoric. I'm not important enough to have my position directly affected, but I think many people who don't have an understanding of how this works underestimate how far reaching this policy would be. This kind of power grab would have a snowball effect on every single agency targeted, and result in a mass exodus of experience and knowledge from all of these agencies, which is exactly what the morons promoting these policies want.
