Cycling Pro Discussion 4: Transfers Everywhere, Vuelta & Beyond

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact someone so light could win a completely flat cobble course like roubaix.
Greg Lemond was 4th twice in Paris-Roubaix and he was 3lbs lighter than Pogacar.

My favorite P-R story is Bernard Hinault. He absolutely hated the race and thought it was stupid. He raced once (I think) in the rainbow jersey. He hit a dog, crashed and still one. In the post race interview he basically only talked about how much he hated the race.

Another nice finale over at Basque Country.

I dont really give a fuck about what guys like Plugge who'd want Grand Tours decided on indoor trainers for safe have to say because technical descending is integral part of road cycling. Back to back Itzulia stages to prove it.

and yes organizers need to focus more on making those descends safer by padding danger zones etc.

I’m getting caught up right now. Boy that aranburu win on stage 3 was fucking bonkers lmao. I thought it was so over when almeida pulled through on the crest. But aranburu gives a good jump scare once in awhile.

Should be a reasonably easy day for GC riders today so how does UAE fuck it up with Almeida having a 30s lead?

Del Toro worked for him well yesterday though with good descending to catch the group and sprintong some bonus seconds at the finish line.

Macho ciclismo witnessed on Itzulia stage 5!

Final stage today, UAE can still give it away though Almeida does look strongest by quite a bit. Some mini rampas inhumanas included

MVDP ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pedersen ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Van Aert, Ganna ⭐⭐⭐
Philipsen, Vermeersch, Tarling, Stuyven ⭐⭐
Pog, Politt, etc ⭐

I really do hope that the big boys relentlessly bully Pogacar and when he wakes up in a hospital he'll abandon these foolish ambitions. I hope Vermeesch and Politt have freedom instead of being slaved to Pog.

Abuse award goes to Movistar this year for sending a sub 60kg Colombian climber Diego Pescador.
