Cycling Pro Discussion 4: Transfers Everywhere, Vuelta & Beyond

Well it was a much better edition than last year.

If climbing meters is X or more: Pogacar wins. If climbing meters is below X: MVDP wins. Witness greatness.

I honestly dont give a shit about someone in 60s winning 21 monuments when they were racing a field 95% amateurs and startlist is like 30 riders.

There is the pro era and then there is time before that. Very much how MTB XC is right now.

I watched Arenberg sector again. WTF is Wout doing? He is in perfect position in about fifth wheel right behind Pog, follows Pog for about 5 seconds and then he just stops. Pog is not riding away but Wout is simply stopping and giving away wheel after wheel.

Next time camera shows Wout he is dropped and the next time after that he is far back on the chasing group that he was just leading 30s ago.

I think that all the crashes have scared him, he does not have it in him anymore to fight for wheels.

If you dismount before crossing the line, is that a DNF?

I hope you're not including Francesco Moser in that comment -- who rode until the late 80s.

He was cooked. I don't think he has the fitness that you expect. Between the knee surgery and having to ride the Giro/Tour double, he has shifted his training away from peaking for RvV and P-R.

Please Remco slay the super mutants. Bring some light to this darkness.

I dont buy that at all. He looked pretty good towards the end and his results show it.

Poor Diego Pescador did not survive, none of them did
