UCI trying to keep Superman Lopez down, no doubt they have a vendetta against him after he smacked that fan!

After it took so long to come to a decision as well. They effectively just ended his career.

How is it Quintana took tramadol and is already racing. Yet MAL only got caught with possession of a masking agent and gets 5 years?

Like you’d think being caught with an actual performance enhancer in your blood during the TDF is more severe then having a masking agent in your possession at the giro but whatever.

So these two guys placing between 4th and 10th at the GTS both pissed hot?

Feels like selective investigating again. Not that I expect anything else from these people.

wait, so cyclists seek an advantage from chemical enhancements?

my word. this must be a new development, no?

By that logic no one from Sky/INEOS should be racing. If you remember, Nicholas Roche said that tramadol use was rampant.

Tramadol was mostly banned because it was thought to cause crashes in the peloton. The pain killer aspect was secondary IIRC.

Sure. I guess I just view it as more of an issue than a masking agent.

I've said this before, when gravel racing becomes lucrative, and euro pros start jumping in, say goodbye to the "spirit of gravel".

I do 90% of my riding on gravel now. The spirit of gravel is that you can go just about anywhere. I do a lot gravel roads and then will do a modest mountain bike loop.

When I cross paths with road group I have no problem jumping in while riding knobby 42s unless they are a group of racers.

I get that but I guess for me it's more of the camaraderie of cyclists going easy in a non-competitive environment. And then Mohoric signs up for Unbound. LMAO! Good luck, yanks.

It may be an unpopular opinion but cyclists are generally cunts based on the 40+ yrs of riding since I started racing at 11.

Sports like rock climbing and back country skiing have a much better camaraderie than cycling.

I rarely run into cyclists on gravel rides, that's why I probably like it so much.

If you want an organic experience find a rarely ridden fire road. You want to register for a race then too fucking bad if a Slovenian pro lines up next to you.

FWIW I'm in Switzerland and have been watching Slovenian TV. Mahoric has a goofy soft drink commercial where he passes a pack of fat weekend warriors. LMAO

What tire size are you running? I thought my 40mm were fat. I saw bike checks for Unbound and they're running 50mm. Some just straight mtb 2.0. I even saw 2.2 tires. They should just call it dropbar xc mtb race at this point.

40mm continentals. They wear it fast though. So I usually ride specialized 38mm pathfinder pros.

For riding light mountain biking trails I use 42mm specialized terra pro. That's the most rough riding I'll do some mud, single track through the woods.

When Keegan Swenson went and took 5th at the world gravel championships beating WVA and a lot of the euro guys, I think it kind of showed the competition was already there.

There was a few guys from EF and Movistar and unbound last year. Not surprised more are showing up now

Are you me?

Looking to retire my cx bike and eying something that can run 2-2.2 mtb tires, bigger is better!

I am sorry but the road pros probably dont remember any of it. For Keegan the day he raced Wout van Aert was the most important day of his life, but for Wout, it was tuesday.
